There are many theories about a possible Apocalypse, about how and when it will come. But it turns out that the danger comes from where no one expected it. In just 30-40 years, humanity is threatened with gradual extinction, and from diseases that are completely curable today.

Recently, British scientists published the results of a study that they carried out on behalf of the government. The attention of specialists was focused on antibiotic resistance of dangerous bacteria. Based on the results of the study, scientists made disappointing predictions.

Several years ago, scientists traced the trend towards the emergence of new strains of pathogenic microbes that are highly resistant to the action of drugs. This problem is capable of becoming global in the near future, and the fate of all mankind may depend on its solution.

Antibiotic resistance is likely to increase the death rate of the working population due to infectious diseases that were previously completely curable. The authors of the scientific work "Review on Antimicrobial Resistance" predicted that by 2050 the number of people on the planet who died from infectious diseases could reach 10 million people a year.

At the same time, for comparison, by that time the number of people dying annually from cancer will reach 8.2 million.

According to the British scenario, due to the emergence of new strains of pathogens of dangerous diseases, infectious diseases will take the lives of 4.7 million people in Asia every year. In Africa, 4.1 million people will die from such diseases every year, in Europe there will be 390,000 deaths, and in the USA - 317,000.

In addition, the world economy will suffer greatly. This will happen due to a decrease in the gross world product by 2-3.5%.

Scientists believe that this problem poses a very real threat that requires an urgent response from the world community.
