New York University students Heidi Chen and Pedro Oliveira decided to show what exactly happens to a person who is too frank in social networks. They created a "smart corset" called x.pose, which gradually becomes transparent as the wearer increases internet activity. As conceived by the inventors, the development will allow people to overcome the dependence on communication in social networks.
The x.pose corset is a 3D printed frame whose panels change transparency as traffic is generated. The process is controlled by a small computer, which registers the activity of the owner. The more data it sends, the faster it gets exposed. Before becoming transparent, the x.pose panels flicker, warning that a person is revealing too much information to strangers.
