"Cooking Cipher" has been used in medicine for a long time. Food and table terms can refer to a variety of diseases, from harmless rashes to vision problems.

Dr. Ritu Lahtakia from the Medical University of Oman shared these curious facts in the journal Medical Humanities. She believes that such "coding" makes medical facts less dry, and biochemical data – more melodious. So, products and diseases:

Coffee with milk

Paints of light coffee color that appear on the skin are a sure sign of neurofibromatosis, during which cancerous cells envelop the nerves, forming abscesses on the epithelium.

Cherry

A cherry-red spot on the back of the eye means that the main vessel supplying blood to the eyeball is blocked and urgent medical attention is needed.

Red wine

Birthmarks are sometimes referred to in medical texts as port-wine stains. These more or less common anomalies are caused by patches of poorly functioning blood vessels that range in color from pinkish to deep purple. Approximately one in 3,000 newborns has these "blood spots", which later disappear with laser therapy.

Grapes

Grapes can grow not only in the form of clusters, but also bacteria. Staphylococcus aureus, whose safe carrier is 20% of the world's population, looks like grapes.
