Your birth date can tell you more than just who you are according to your zodiac sign. There is evidence that the month of birth affects a person's health in the future. Estet-portal.com has collected information for its readers about what health problems children born in a given month are prone to and why.

Born in autumn

  1. Good physical shape. A study published in the International Journal of Sports Medicine shows that boys born in November perform better on tests of cardiorespiratory endurance, arm strength and lower body strength than their peers born in spring.

Reason: Pregnant women get enough vitamin D during the summer for good physical development of the fetus.

  1. Tendency to food allergies. People born in autumn, according to a study by Johns Hopkins University, are more prone to food allergies than people born in other seasons.

Reason: Autumn babies receive less vitamin D in the first months of life, as a result of which they develop skin sensitivity to food allergens.

Born in winter

  1. Left-handed. Among men born in winter, left-handers are more common than among those born in other seasons. High levels of testosterone in the womb increase the likelihood of left-handedness, and longer periods of sun exposure in the summer can lead to higher testosterone levels during fetal development.
  2. Premature birth. Children conceived in May (respectively, born in February) are 10% more likely to be born prematurely. The reason for this phenomenon may be colds and flu, which their mothers get sick during the last trimester of pregnancy.

Born in the Spring

  1. Melanoma. People born in the spring have a 21% greater chance of developing melanoma than those born in the fall. Such results of a 2014 study were published in the International Journal of Epidemiology. Exposure to ultraviolet radiation during the first months of life in people born in the spring can increase the risk of melanoma. Therefore, those born in the spring need to be especially careful to protect themselves from sunlight and all forms of skin cancer.
  2. Menopause. Italian scientists made an interesting observation: women born in spring reached menopause before the age of 49, while women born in autumn entered this period 15 months later. There is an assumption that women born in autumn have more eggs.

Born in Summer

  1. Myopia. A study was published in the journal Ophthalmology, according to which people born in summer are more likely to need glasses to see well at a distance. Possible causes include exposure to sunlight on the eyes immediately after the baby is born.
  2. Mood swings. People born in summer often experience mood swings. When exposed to light and temperature, chemicals in a child's brain can affect mental health.

The above information is rather interesting observations of scientists than confirmed facts. Of course, the season, and even more so the month of birth, does not affect human health as much as heredity and environmental influences, but some trends, as you have already seen, can be traced.
