Clinical manifestations in different types of tooth dislocation
The clinical picture depends on the type of dislocation. With incomplete dislocation of the tooth, when the root is partially displaced from the alveoli, and the periodontal ligaments are torn, the tooth changes its position in the dentition. As the tooth becomes mobile, pain is present. The toothache is aggravated during the act of chewing. Sometimes eating becomes difficult and so painful that the patient refuses to eat.

In case of incomplete dislocation of the tooth, the tooth is set into the socket and fixed to the adjacent teeth with wire splints or plaster overlay. After a month and a half, the splints are removed, and the tooth usually retains its full sensitivity and blood supply.
After removing the splint, a gentle treatment is recommended to avoid significant loads on the tooth. The control radiography, which is carried out after a few months, shows how successfully the tooth has taken its position.
