Применение маски для лица: как выбрать идеальную маску на каждый случай

Despite quality care (cleansing, toning, moisturizing or nourishing) with high quality cosmetics and daily care, from time to time our skin needs something more. Face masks are perfect for providing extra support in any situation.

Didn't get enough sleep? The mask will help you. Have winter frosts dried up delicate skin? Masks will help. Are you suffering from breakouts? Not without masks. Is the complexion pale? And again the masks rush to the rescue.

How to choose the perfect mask (and maybe more than one) and how to apply face masks correctly – read the article estet-portal.com.

Proper use of a face mask

The modern cosmetic market offers such a variety of face masks that it can be difficult to decide what you really need. However, we will help you make your choice: it is enough just to understand what goals you are trying to achieve by applying a face mask.

By the way, modern women often have more than one or even two masks in their cosmetic arsenal. And rightly so: different masks – for different purposes, seasons and even parts of the face.

Masks contain active ingredients in high concentrations, so you can’t use them daily, even if you really want to prolong the magical effect.

Use face masks 1-2 times a week. This is enough to solve skin problems and achieve a visible effect, but at the same time not overload the skin of the face.

It is better to apply masks on the face after a light peeling (scrub, for example) and on warm skin (you can hold a hot towel on your face for a couple of minutes or steam the skin a little over hot water if there are no problems with blood vessels on your face).

The residence time of the mask on the face is usually regulated by the instructions of the cosmetic product – often 10 to 20 minutes. Although now night masks have come into fashion, which are left on the face during sleep, and in the morning they admire the rested and refreshed skin.

Usually, after washing off the mask, a moisturizing or nourishing cream is applied to the face (unless the instructions state otherwise).

How to choose your perfect face mask

Most often, masks have a cream or gel texture, and for oily porous skin, film masks are popular (a transparent gel on the face hardens and is removed like a film in one motion, “pulling” all impurities from the pores) and masks in the form of clay paste.

Over the past couple of years, sheet masks and patches have become popular, which came to the world cosmetic markets from Asian countries. They are the easiest to use (I put a cloth soaked with the composition on the cleansed face for 10-20 minutes, then removed it), but they give a wonderful effect. Sheet masks are often infused with anti-aging serums that deeply hydrate, even out the complexion, and lift the skin.

There are also masks for certain areas of the face: areas around the eyes, lips, nose (cleansing strips against blackheads).

For example, for the eyelids, patches with a cooling effect are used, which relieve fatigue, puffiness and restore clarity and radiance of the look. If lack of sleep, frequent flights or work at the computer – it's about you, then cooling gel eye patches will be your best companions. They are best kept in the refrigerator or just a cool place. And no swelling is scary!

Lip patches will instantly fix dry, chapped skin on the lips thanks to the shock dose of hyaluronic acid, collagen or plant extracts in the product. If after 10 minutes the drug is not completely absorbed into the skin, then it is better not to wipe off the remnants, but gently rub it into the lips like a balm.

Classic types of face masks – choose your

  1. Moisturizing masks for everyone

The skin of the face suffers from dehydration both in hot summers and in cold winters. Moisturizing masks restore the skin's moisture balance, remove flaking and soothe irritation.

Look for products that contain hyaluronic acid, seaweed, vegetable (not mineral!) oils, aloe or chamomile extracts, bisabolol, etc.

Many moisturizing masks do not require rinsing with water – Leftovers can simply be wiped off with a paper towel. But it is better to do it at night.

Moisturizing the skin is quite possible with the help of homemade products.

  1. Toning masks for workaholics or party girls (or just before a special event)

Such masks are called the "Cinderella effect" for glowing skin. They restore a healthy complexion, instantly remove traces of lack of sleep and fatigue. In addition, they tighten pores, making the skin smoother, and moisturize the face. So they can be used both after a sleepless night (you won’t have time to have breakfast, as your face will already shine under the mask), and on the eve of a solemn event.

Look for products that contain caffeine, citrus essential oils, pomegranate extract. Oxygen masks are also effective.

  1. Cleansing masks for problematic, oily or combination skin

Since these products are quite powerful at drawing out impurities and blackheads from the pores, it is better not to part with them, using a couple of times a week.

The most powerful cleansing masks – based on different types of clay (kaolin), which absorb excess secretion of the sebaceous glands and have an antibacterial effect.

Life hack: in order not to overdry the skin, after the cleansing mask, you can apply a moisturizing mask on your face (just for a couple of minutes!)
  1. Anti-aging masks

This includes both tightening (lifting masks) and restoring, as well as simply moisturizing masks with special components.

As a rule, under 35 years old "heavy artillery" not yet required – there are enough products that contain hyaluronic acid (or other hydrating agents), coenzymes, amino acid complexes, vitamins A, E, C.

At a more mature age, it is worth starting to use masks with peptides.

  1. Peeling masks

Don't confuse them with cleansing masks or scrubs! Peeling masks work with aha acids – milk, glycolic, almond, etc.

Acids dissolve dead skin cells, making the skin smooth and even out the tone of the face, improve blood circulation, lighten age spots.

When using chemical peels, you should protect your face from direct sunlight – Use a sunscreen with a high level of sun protection before going outside. In addition, it is worth trying very carefully such products for owners of sensitive skin.

Masks – the best express skin care product and a reliable way to get your face in order in 15 minutes. However, remember that not even the best mask will save you if you neglect regular basic facial care. Beautiful skin to you!
