It takes some courage to accept and come to terms with the fact that disruption of the normal functioning of vital organs awaits everyone. And this does not depend on how you perceive the loss of the main chewing teeth. The worst option would be to postpone everything until later, without resorting to removable prosthetics. And, I think, anyone will agree that it would be simply indecent to appear toothless and sick in public if you can become the owner of a healthy attractive smile, calmly carry on a conversation and eat whatever you want.

New generation prostheses

Modern removable dentures have not changed much over the years, they are almost the same as the stereotypical "grandmothers", with the only difference that it is not necessary to put them in a glass. The reason is new materials, more modern plastics, dental sets, impression materials, etc. etc. The base plastic can now have not only the usual pink hue, but even be with capillary vessels added. Sometimes it is quite difficult to notice the prosthesis, because the technology has reached a rather high level, and artificial teeth have high wear resistance and aesthetic appearance.

Often the only way to replace all lost teeth is a full plate denture, but unfortunately in the lower jaw its retention is very poor.

Now we will talk about small cosmetic prostheses, another type of removable prostheses. In dentistry, they are called "beauty bags", "bugs", "butterflies". They are made for one or three teeth, when there is no need or it is a pity to process intact (without a single filling) teeth along the edges of the defect or, for various reasons, it is impossible to put a bridge. Such mini prostheses are used by people from 16-18 to 50-60 years old. Of course, these prostheses have the disadvantages of removable structures, but it is quite easy to get used to them, their cost is relatively low, but most importantly, they allow you not to have prosthetic teeth. One session is enough to make an impression, and the prosthesis is put on the next day, that's all!

Removable prostheses are the same cosmetic prostheses in which supporting legs that wrap around a healthy tooth are instead glued to it. This type of prosthesis helps with the loss of, for example, 6 teeth, preventing the possible movement of the antagonist and the teeth extreme to the defect into the resulting lumen. The patient does not need to remove this prosthesis on his own, which is why this type is called conditionally removable.
