There are many ways to get rid of excess body fat: through proper nutrition, sports, surgery or hardware techniques. Liposuction is the most effective and fastest way to say goodbye to a large amount of body fat. However, surgical intervention – it is always a risk, a lot of contraindications and unpleasant side effects.
Ultrasonic cavitation (non-surgical liposuction) will help you get rid of unwanted fat without resorting to surgery. However, this procedure has its own characteristics, which you need to be aware of when choosing a figure correction method.
Ultrasonic cavitation – principle of operation and description of the procedure
Ultrasonic cavitation is based on the use of high power ultrasonic waves to destroy adipocytes (fat cells). Under the influence of low-frequency sound waves, gas bubbles form and gradually increase in adipocytes. When they reach a critical size, the membrane of the fat cell breaks, and its contents enter the intercellular spaces, from where it is excreted with the lymph flow.
Only fat cells are exposed to the destructive effect of ultrasound, the rest of the structures remain unharmed. This effect is provided by different thickness of cell membranes – the frequency and power of the sound waves used are detrimental only to adipocytes.
We'll look at:
- indications and contraindications for ultrasonic cavitation;
- advantages, disadvantages and other features of the procedure.
Indications and contraindications for ultrasonic cavitation
Ultrasonic cavitation is indicated for:
- presence of local fat deposits;
- presence of cellulite;
- the presence of imperfections after liposuction.
It should be noted that this procedure has a limited effect – correct the figure (remove up to 5 extra centimeters from the problem area), reduce the severity of cellulite. However, a slight effect is noticeable after the first procedure.
Ultrasonic cavitation is usually recommended to be combined with lymphatic drainage massage to speed up the removal of fat content from the body. For the same reason, it is recommended to drink enough water.
Contraindications for ultrasonic cavitation procedure:
- pregnancy;
- breastfeeding;
- diabetes;
- cancer;
- liver and kidney diseases;
- skin diseases;
- impaired lymph flow;
- implanted pacemakers or defibrillators;
- varicose veins;
- chronic infections;
- metal implants.
Advantages, disadvantages and features of the ultrasonic cavitation procedure
Ultrasonic Cavitation Benefits:
- no scars;
- no recovery period;
- painless;
- visible effect;
- result duration (subject to expert advice).
Disadvantages of non-surgical liposuction:
- need to follow a diet (carbohydrate-free) to maintain results;
- relatively high cost;
- in some cases it will be necessary to carry out a large number of procedures (up to 10);
- possible tinnitus during the procedure.
Adhering to a special diet after the procedure is due to the fact that the products of cell decay put a strain on the liver, gallbladder and gastrointestinal tract.
3 days before ultrasonic cavitation, you will also have to give up fatty, spicy and fried foods, alcohol. But the amount of water used will need to be increased. An hour before cavitation, you will also need to drink a liter of water.
The procedure (10-40 minutes) is the same as an ultrasound: a gel is applied to the treated area and a handle is used, through the sensors of which sound waves pass. Lymphatic drainage massage can be performed immediately after non-surgical liposuction.
Interval between – about 10 days. This is the time it takes the body to naturally remove the destroyed fat cells. Do not forget about the possible side effects of ultrasonic cavitation:
- burns;
- inflammation of organs and tissues;
- tissue dehydration.
The above side effects are possible, but they are extremely rare in practice.
Therefore, ultrasonic cavitation is a safe and effective method of getting rid of a small amount of fat deposits, thanks to which you can make your figure more attractive without harming your health.
