Упражнения для пальцев: 5 движений, сохраняющие их красоту и гибкость

Hands are the first to show our age. High loads, frequent contact with  household chemicals, exposure to temperature changes and other factors lead to  early aging of the skin.
But the structural features of the hands and fingers (many small joints, relatively weak ligaments) are also reflected in  hand condition. Few people think that it is the flexibility and plasticity of the fingers — one of characteristics of youth.

Our hands change with age. But the finger exercises collected in this article will help your hands to stay flexible and beautiful.

Finger Exercises: Keeping Your Joints & Ligaments Healthy

The flexibility of the fingers is determined by how well the small joints work, connecting the same small bones together. In addition, it is important to maintain the strength and elasticity of the ligaments — structures that allow joints to move or rotate within certain limits. This at the same time does not allow the joints to move, and provides sufficient amplitude.

The following exercises will help strengthen your fingers and make them more flexible.

  • Clenching and unclenching fists.Hands can be in any position — bent at the elbows, freely "hanging" along the body. Forcefully clench your fists so that the thumb is covered by the rest. Hold in this position for 3-5 seconds, then straighten your palm with the same force (imagine that the air is resisting you). Repeat the exercise, but in this time the thumb is outside — it covers the rest.
Repeat the exercise 6-8 times, alternately changing the position of the thumb.

  • Pencil movement. Hold the pencil between your thumb and forefinger. "Pass" his middle finger — now the pencil is sandwiched between the thumb and middle finger. Then pass the pencil to the nameless one and then — little finger. Repeat the movement in reverse — from little finger to forefinger. As strength and  flexibility improve, smaller and smaller items can be used. For example, a coin or a bead.

  • Lock. Interlace your fingers into a lock, and in in this position, tilt them to sides, make circular motions. Then make a series of  5-10 strong squeezing of the palms (like pressing them on each other). To finish, quickly straighten your fingers and squeeze again without changing the position of your palms — they remain pressed against each other.

  • Squeeze your hand into a fist and sequentially raise your index finger, then return it to fist and raise two fingers — index and middle, then again bend them and then raise three — index, middle and nameless. Having reached when the palm is fully open, repeat the exercise, but starting with little finger.

Finger exercises to improve blood circulation

For the flexibility and  beauty of the fingers, it is very important to have a high-quality blood supply to both the joints and other structures and tissues. So, the better the blood supply to the nail plates, the better the nutrients get into them, and the smoother and healthier they look. To normalize blood circulation in hands and fingers, you can perform a few simple exercises:

  • For 30 seconds, drum your fingertips on table or other hard surface. Be careful not to tap with your nails, but with your pads.

  • Straighten your hand and  fingers, and move with your other hand as if you put on a glove. "Pull" it on each finger separately, passing from the fingertip to its base. After you finish working with all fingers of one hand, switch hands and repeat the exercise.

  • Lower your arms along the body and, without straining your hands, shake them several times.

  • Clap your hands, then pushing your fingers so that they are tightly pressed against each other, then spreading them as wide as possible.

You will notice the most pronounced effect if you do such exercises at least 2 times a day. It is especially important to do finger exercises regularly if you often work at a computer, sew, knit, or do other activities that require the same type of load. Exercises will help relieve tension from fingers and hands and keep their flexibility for years to come.
