After breast surgery, postoperative edema often bothers for some time. Basically, they spread to the arm, which is located on the side of the operated gland, and discomfort can also occur in the shoulder. Such circumstances affect the ability to produce sharp and wide hand movements. In addition, quite often there are aching pains in the lower back. Unfortunately, such postoperative phenomena cannot go away on their own and in order to eliminate them, you should use the special exercises described in the article.

Performing simple, but effective exercises, it is possible to effectively deal with postoperative edema. Therefore, as soon as the attending physician gives his permission to do gymnastics, you should immediately begin to perform exercises from edema. Devoting just 10-15 minutes a day to classes, you will significantly improve your condition.

A set of exercises that will help get rid of postoperative edema

You will need: a gymnastic ball with a diameter of 30-40 cm.

Number of repetitions of each exercise for swelling: 3-4 times.

Class duration: 10-15 minutes.

Edematous Exercise #1

Sit down, relax. Straighten your spine, keep your head straight too. Take both hands back (at the same time), then forward.

Swelling Exercise #2

Both hands should be extended overhead, fists clenched. In this position, you should linger for 3-4 seconds, after this time, open your hands and relax your fingers. This exercise involves alternating the position of outstretched arms - first hold your hands above your head, then take them to the sides.

Edematous Exercise #3

Sit up straight, then relax and bend your back. Hands at the same time, in contact, are between the knees. Begin to straighten up slowly, straighten your arms and stretch them over your head.

Edematous Exercise #4

Stand up straight, place your right hand over your left on your left knee. From this position, raise your right straight arm above your head, while pulling it back. The hand must be followed by the eyes. After repeating this exercise several times, switch to the other side and do the same.

Edematous Exercise #5

Sit up straight with your hands clasped above your head. Take your elbows back and linger in this position for a few seconds, after which bring your elbows as close as possible, and open your hands. Repeat the exercise, starting from the starting position.

Edematous Exercise #6

Keep your back straight, while your arms are straight, lowered, your hands are clasped into the castle. Straight arms should be slowly extended above the head, while not opening them. In this position, you need to linger for a few seconds, after which the hands should be relaxed and lowered.

Thanks to regular exercise, you can forget about the discomfort caused by postoperative swelling and again feel the freedom of movement.
