Red eye is one of the most common problems of office workers. Prolonged work at the computer, lack of sleep, and as a result, severe eye fatigue – causes of the problem. There are several ways to help prevent eye fatigue and redness.
Regardless of the causes of redness, it is most often treated with medications. Their advantage lies in the fact that with them you can achieve the fastest result. Such funds are quite easy to use, the effect comes quickly. Everything you need – just follow the instructions for use.
Eye drops for tiredness
The most common remedy for eye redness is the so-called "artificial" tears, which can be found in any pharmacy. This drug is recommended to be used following the following steps:
- Using a special dispenser, apply a few drops of the product to the surface of the eyeball.
- Close your eyes for 10 seconds (so the liquid can be distributed evenly over the entire surface).
The substances that make up the drug are able to instantly penetrate into the capillaries and relieve inflammation and redness. Thanks to the drug, there is a narrowing of the vessels that are on the surface of the shell of the eyes, and sufficient hydration of the eye is also provided. However, it should be borne in mind that the effect of eye drops from fatigue will last only a few hours, then the redness returns. For this reason, such preparations are recommended for use only in extreme cases, when it is not possible to resort to more effective procedures.
Removing eye fatigue with folk remedies
Cold compress. You will need two ice cubes, which should be wrapped in cotton and placed over the eyes. You can also use a compress soaked in cold water. The duration of this procedure is 20 minutes. Redness goes away due to exposure to low temperature, due to which vasoconstriction occurs. However, the redness returns after a while.
Potato compress. It is believed that such a compress has healing properties, because it can not only mask the redness of the eyes, but completely eliminate it. Potatoes must first be kept in the refrigerator for several hours. Then it should be peeled, rubbed on a fine grater and wrapped in cheesecloth (do not squeeze the juice). It is recommended to keep such a compress in front of your eyes for 10 minutes. An alternative vegetable for this procedure is a cucumber, which has similar properties.
