The closer the beach season, the more popular are fitness clubs. Of course, in each of them they conduct an introductory briefing and tell you how and what you can do. The editors of Estet-portal decided to open the doors to the fitness world for you and tell you about the meanings of several basic fitness terms.
Fitness terms: arc
In translation from English, this is "arch". Back corrector, which is used in Pilates classes. Acts as a support for the spine, helping to fix it in the correct position. Ideal for those who want to keep track of their posture. Doctors recommend a projectile for the prevention of back problems. This simple device allows you to prevent the appearance of hernias and protrusions of the spine. You can work out with the arch both in the gym and at home on your own.
Fitness Terms: Kinesis
Literally - "movement". This simulator allows you to simulate the movements that we make in everyday life when we open a tight door or jump over a puddle on the road. They turned out to be very useful! Outwardly, kinesis is similar to a relaxation room. All burdens are hidden in wooden panels, outside there are only comfortable soft handles, behind which flexible cables stretch from the wall. You can pull as you like - up, down, to the side, bend over, move away. There are no limitations typical of conventional trainers.
Usually there are 4 modules in the station, that is, 4 options for the location of the handles relative to each other. Having worked at one panel, you move to another. You can do very simple movements - for example, bend your arms. Or you can use complex coordinating ones - for example, imitate the flapping of the wings of birds or the movements of a swimmer. The resistance varies, so the load is adjusted for both the advanced fitness enthusiast and the beginner.
Fitness terms: booty dance
Literally, booty dance is a "dance of the buttocks", or as it is called by the people "shocked". Exercises created on the basis of different types of vibrations, mainly gluteal. With the help of booty-dance, you can get an appetizing fifth point without straining on the simulators. Today, this type of dance can often be found among the lists of classes in almost every fitness club.
The origin of the dance style goes back to African tribal dances, which are full of all sorts of "feminine" elements such as hip rotation, buttocks shaking and stomach agitation. By the way, booty-dance prototypes were of particular importance in the matter of reproduction.
Fitness terms: Fitball
A large rubber ball, 55 to 75 cm in diameter, used for aerobics. It was developed by Swiss doctors Susan Klein-Vogenbach and Mary Quinton for rehabilitation after back injuries and for the treatment of patients diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Fitball exercises work most muscle groups, help correct posture and increase flexibility.
The round shape of the ball allows you to perform movements with greater amplitude and, and its instability forces you to keep your muscles in constant tension to maintain balance.
Fitness terms: reformer
Invented at the beginning of the last century by Joseph Pilates, this machine was originally a bed with an unstable platform. Despite the fact that the load on the spine during exercise is minimal, all muscles are included in the work, including small ones, or "intellectuals" as physiologists call them. Mr. Pilates came up with the reformer while working in a hospital during the First World War: he fastened straps and springs to the beds, the soldiers were pulled up with their help without getting out of bed. If you want to give the right load to the small muscles, including the muscles of the abdominals and back, the reformer is for you.
