Good morning – for many, this phrase – nothing more than an oxymoron. However, a productive and most positive start to the day – this is already half the success.
Owls who absolutely hate early mornings, no matter how beautiful, can learn from this article some useful habits that will eventually help you enjoy the morning and make your day more productive.
Determine your intentions
To stay calm, be ready for the day ahead and fulfill your plan, you must first decide what you intend to do for this day.

You can and even need to start thinking about a new day in the evening, so that, having decided on your tasks, you can relax. And for rest, you need an average of 7-9 hours of a healthy night's sleep. Sleep is the main mental well being, however often people find other priorities.
Think about it, when was the last time you functioned properly after going to bed in the middle of the night?
Now close your eyes and remember the last time you were calm and balanced. Concentrate on this situation and remember that you can always slow down and get the job done. The right attitude – this is very important.
Remember: You need proactive thinking, not reactive
What does that mean? According to psychologist Ron Friedman, if you spend the first 10 minutes of the day checking email and replying to incoming emails, you will program your brain into a reactive state. Therefore, it is better to refrain from such activities. It is better to spend this time on yourself. You literally have to visualize the internal control that will help you stay calm throughout the day.
You can also do the following to reprogram from reactive to proactive thinking:
1. Drink a glass of water (which is good for your mood and well-being).
2. Read a book (set aside at least 10 minutes of your time for this enjoyable and rewarding activity).
3. Devote 5 minutes of meditation.
4. Think positive.

Plan and plan again!
Planning is important in any endeavor and/or undertaking, including at the start of the day. First, the planning process itself develops your ability to think ahead. Secondly, it allows you to save invaluable time, which you may not have during the day. And thirdly, it helps to fully focus on the task at hand.
Have a mini-planning session every morning. Both mind and body are still fresh and full of energy after waking up. Use it to set clear, step-by-step goals that will help you succeed.
Make the most of 2 hours
It turns out that a person is productive in the first two hours of the morning (not immediately after waking up, but somewhere in an hour and a half). Unfortunately, many spend these precious resources on activities that require little to no cognitive ability (such as scrolling through the news feed on social networks).
Choose two things for yourself that you can (really) do today. By the way, many productive people make a list of things in the evening that they start doing during these 2 hours of maximum productivity.
However, remember that before you roll up your productivity sleeves, you need to eliminate all distractions: turn off notifications (sound) on your mobile device, close all unnecessary tabs on your computer and tell everyone that it is strictly forbidden to disturb you for a couple of hours.
