Groomed and attractive appearance – this is the best business card of a specialist in aesthetic medicine. Working in this industry, the doctor understands that the patient will definitely evaluate his appearance before sitting in his chair. But the incredibly attractive and charismatic dermatologist, cosmetologist, head physician of the Total Charm Tbilisi clinic, Albina Kajaya, in an interview for estet-portal.com admitted that she does not consider herself beautiful, and also told who her main critic is and what she does not like in people. Read the exclusive interview now.
Many patients of dermatocosmetologists say that in childhood they were rarely called beautiful. You – very beautiful. Were you often told about this as a child?
I have a whole theory about this! I was often criticized as a child, saying that I have a big head, legs are too long, that I am tall for a girl, and I should not walk in heels, wear tight clothes, and so on. I think this problem – a relic of the Soviet Union, where we were not even accustomed to just complimenting each other.
I agree that our patients often underestimate themselves, and this is a very big problem.
It happens that a real beauty comes to the reception and says that she wants to be even better, and the problem is only in her self-esteem. You need to work not only on your appearance, but also develop internally.
When did you realize you were beautiful?
To be honest, I don't consider myself beautiful. Yes, I can present myself correctly, I can emphasize my strengths and hide my flaws, but I don’t consider myself a beauty. Apparently, I also need to work on myself.
From whom do you especially enjoy receiving compliments?
From women! You know, a woman looks good not when a man looks at her, but when a woman looks at her. And all the girlfriends, colleagues and other surrounding ladies – these are the harshest criticisms.
And who is the most important critic for you personally?
My husband, he is the most important and objective critic for me. And he is very supportive, for which I am grateful to him. I had an interesting case when I posted some of my interviews on a social network, and my husband’s patient, who remembers my first steps in cosmetology, wrote: “Albina, you are the best and most talented student of Georgy Sulamanidze.” And this was a very weighty praise for me!
What character traits do you dislike in people?
I don't like it when people lie, when they steal and when they try to push someone's foreheads off. And I really do not like those who weave intrigues. For me, this is generally the most unpleasant thing that can be.
Can you share your most vivid memories of the past year?
I think that you should not go back to the past, but only think about the future, and I try to live by this principle.
I can tell you that I have a lot more plans for 2018, first of all, for work.
Very soon in Monaco we will be presenting a brand new product from Aptos. We are keeping it a secret for now what exactly it will be, but I can say that this is a revolutionary product, in the spirit of Aptos.
What do you think, what trends will be in cosmetology in 10 years?
Aesthetic medicine is already moving towards minimizing invasion and tissue trauma. I think that this is a great future that will bring huge dividends for our patients, because they will be able to get exactly the results they are waiting for, without rehabilitation and complications.
How do you feel about the use of stem cells in aesthetic medicine?
Of course, this industry has not yet been fully explored. Personally, I have not yet used stem cells in my practice, and have not delved into this topic. But I will tell you that when I gave birth to all my 3 children, we took stem cells from their umbilical cord and store them in special banks, because we see the rapid development of medicine. Perhaps someday it will come in handy, and our children will thank us for it?
