Patients trust advertising of injection procedures that are quick, painless and completely without a trace, when you can go to a dinner party right from the cosmetologist's office, much prettier. Before carrying out mesotherapy or biorevitalization, the cosmetologist must warn the patient that small hematomas can be avoided with multiple injections – difficult and almost impossible task. But it is quite possible to significantly reduce bruises after injections, their number and brightness, and prevent severe hemorrhages. Estet-portal.com has formulated 3 rules for cosmetologists and their patients, which will help make the results of the injection procedure pleasant.

Rule #1. A detailed history taking will prevent bruising after injections

Before planning injection procedures, the patient should be asked about the features of his state of health and well-being. The following factors may increase the risk of bruising after injections:

  • genetically determined increased vascular fragility;
  • smoking (greatly increases the fragility of the capillary walls);
  • impaired blood clotting;
  • taking medications that thin the blood (aspirin, diclofenac, ibuprofen and others);
  • the presence of menstrual bleeding (or expecting it to start in a couple of days).

Congenital poor blood clotting or taking anticoagulants that cannot be temporarily canceled in any way are direct contraindications to injection procedures.

Rule #2. Correct injection technique – basis for preventing bruising after injections

Hemorrhages occur when a needle enters a vessel and damages its wall. When a procedure involving multiple injections (biorevitalization or mesotherapy) is performed, it is almost impossible to avoid getting a needle into at least some vascular wall. But to reduce the number of hematomas and their severity, the following principles must be observed:

  • before starting injections, give the patient some time to relax if he was in a hurry and excited – vessels should narrow to a normal state;
  • special care should be exercised in those places where the patient has active mimic activity – it can lead to additional microtraumas;
  • in areas with active blood flow and thin skin, it is preferable to work with a cannula;
  • if possible, use a technique in which the once inserted needle is not completely withdrawn, but only the direction of its movement and the injection depth are changed – this will avoid unnecessary punctures.

If a hemorrhage does form, you should immediately apply cold to this place to avoid an extensive hematoma.

Rule #3. Competent post-procedural recommendations to the patient will reduce the risk of bruising after injections

In any procedure or operation, no matter how invasive it may be, proper aftercare is essential. A good aesthetic result, including biorevitalization or mesotherapy, largely depends on it.

In order for the small hematomas that have arisen after the procedure to remain unobtrusive, to disappear as quickly as possible and without a trace, the patient must be given some mandatory recommendations that will have to be followed for about a week:

  • in the first few hours after the procedure, do not lie down and do nothing in the slope;
  • for the first 2-3 days, do not take the position face down and sleep on a high pillow;
  • for a few days after the procedure, refrain from heavy smoking and drinking alcohol;
  • exclude massages and other procedures associated with pressure on the skin at the injection site;
  • refuse for a week from visiting the sauna, bath, solarium, swimming pool, taking a hot bath, going to the beach;
  • do not touch your face with your hands and do not massage it, if possible, restrain mimic activity.

It is acceptable to do cold compresses on the face at home, but without bringing the soft tissues to hypothermia. The use of local preparations that strengthen the vascular walls and dissolve blood clots may be appropriate for numerous and severe hematomas. However, it must be remembered that such preparations absorb not only blood, but also hyaluronic acid introduced during the procedure.
