The patient complained of thinning hair, loss of color and gradual hair loss in the frontal and parietal areas of the head. The first symptoms appeared about 4 years ago, the disease progressed at an average rate. The appearance of bald patches forced him to see a doctor.
From the anamnesis: similar bald patches in the fronto-parietal region were observed in the patient's father. In order to prevent baldness, the patient tried to use shampoos for hair loss, according to him, the treatment was ineffective.
The patient was diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia grade 4 according to Norwood. The proposal for a hair transplant was not accepted, the patient decided to temporarily refrain from the operation and try to get by with less drastic procedures to restore the hair.
The patient was offered a method of treating baldness with the help of platelet-rich plasma - plasma therapy. Such treatment is performed by intradermal papular injection and application of plasma using a dermoroller with a needle penetration depth of 1 mm. The patient's own blood plasma enriched with platelets is used. The procedure is performed under local application anesthesia or without anesthesia at all and consists of two phases - a saturated phase, which includes 5-6 courses with an interval of 1 month, and a maintenance phase - 2 courses per year.
After two sessions of plasma therapy, the patient noticed that his hair darkened and became thicker. Unfortunately, due to family circumstances, the patient could not complete the full course of treatment and is currently preparing for a hair transplant.
