Small buttocks can cause not only disappointment as an aesthetic flaw in the figure, but also affect posture and gait. The gluteal muscles are responsible for many important functions - they balance the vertical position of the human body, provide lightness and elasticity of the gait, help to squat, lift and tilt. And, of course, well-developed gluteal muscles contribute to the creation of a harmonious contour of the human body. Women attach particular importance to this part of the body, since the sexual elasticity and roundness of the shape of the buttocks gives many of them self-confidence. Small buttocks today can be completely corrected using various surgical methods.
Features of the gluteal muscles and the causes of their deformation
Buttocks are considered beautiful if they have a proportional development, rounded shape, tightened and with elastic smooth skin. The criteria by which the shape of the buttocks is judged are as follows:
- projection - “side view” should be even and harmoniously convex, the largest volume falls on the upper third of the buttock or its middle, the transition to the thigh is smooth, an imaginary horizontal line connects the upper edge of the pubic zone and the most convex point buttocks;
- gluteal crease – better if it is completely absent or very short;
- tissue elasticity – in the supine position, the shape of the buttocks should not change, and the projection should be disturbed.
Sometimes a dimple forms on the outer surface of the buttocks, but for men this is considered an attractive nuance, but not for women, because it focuses on the width of the hips.
The long fold under the buttocks is formed as a result of the descent of the gluteal muscles and tissue ptosis. This can occur not only due to age-related changes, but also with a sharp weight loss, and also due to a constant sedentary lifestyle, when the gluteal muscles do not experience the proper load and become flabby, sagging.
The peculiarity of the female buttocks in comparison with the male ones is that a significant part of their volume is fatty tissue. Therefore, small buttocks in women may be due to an insufficient amount of adipose tissue (with a thin physique) or flabbiness of the skin, which contributes to the drooping of the buttocks.
Techniques for correcting small buttocks
Surgical correction of the buttocks also happens for medical reasons - this happens in case of asymmetry, congenital or post-traumatic problems with the gluteal muscles. In aesthetic medicine, small buttock augmentation surgery - gluteoplasty - will help to correct the size and improve the shape of the buttocks. For this, textured implants are most often used, the size and shape of which are chosen by the surgeon after a detailed discussion of the possible results of the operation with the patient.
Implants are placed through an incision in the intergluteal fold, most often under the gluteal muscle or under the fatty tissue in the upper third of the buttock. After the operation, the patient is advised to wear special compression underwear and a categorical ban on any injection procedures in this area.
Small buttocks can be corrected using lipofilling, while the required adipose tissue for volume augmentation is often taken in the thigh area, so that it is possible to correct the patient's silhouette as much as possible due to the slimness of the hips and roundness of the buttocks.
