Бальзам для губ своими руками: топ-3 рецепта

Autumn-winter period – a real test for the delicate and sensitive skin of the lips. Under the influence of cold, wind and frost, it dries and cracks, which causes considerable discomfort. To protect the lips, many girls use hygienic lipsticks. However, they do not always help. After all, the main ingredient in them is not natural beeswax, but artificial paraffin. Therefore, it will still be more reliable to make a lip balm with your own hands. It is prepared exclusively from natural ingredients that can be found at home or bought at any pharmacy. And the online edition will share with you several recipes for this miracle remedy.

Handmade lip balm: benefits

When lips are exposed to harsh climates, they begin to crack. With not reliable protection, various infections get into the cracks: herpes, stomatitis, blisters, and so on. Often this occurs due to the fact that the paraffin, which is in hygienic lipstick or balm, creates only a thin film on the surface, which disappears very quickly. It doesn't moisturize or nourish at all. In addition, this substance, along with food, often enters the body, which can cause intoxication. On top of that, lipstick is addictive.

Handmade lip balm – the complete opposite of a purchased cosmetic product. It nourishes, moisturizes and even heals small cracks on the lips. It does not cause addiction.

The whole secret of the usefulness of natural balm lies in its special composition. The product is 100% natural ingredients:
•    beeswax – saturates the lips with moisture, protects them from wind and cold, and also prevents the appearance of dryness, wounds, infections;
•    solid oils (shea butter, mango, cocoa and so on) – create a thin protective film on the lips, soften and give a pleasant feeling;
•    liquid oils (jojoba, avocado, sea buckthorn, calendula, castor, coconut, almond, etc.) – heal wounds, nourish, and also saturate the skin of the lips with vitamins;
•    natural additives (liquid honey, glycerin, aloe juice, etc.) – enhance nourishing and moisturizing properties;
•    liquid vitamins A and E – protect the skin of the lips from free radicals;
•    essential oils (tea tree, mint, citrus, etc.) – give a wonderful aroma.

Peculiarities of preparing a natural lip product

Making your own lip balm is easy. And yes, it will take about 15 minutes. Everything you need – these are natural ingredients that can be purchased at a pharmacy or an organic online store, a small saucepan and a heat-resistant bowl (but not metal) for a steam bath, empty jars or tubes from old lipstick.

Before preparing a lip balm, its components must be checked for allergies. This should be done in the area where the skin is most tender, for example, on the inside of the arm. If after a while redness or a rash appears on this site, the ingredient should not be used.

Any do-it-yourself lip balm is prepared according to the following algorithm:
1.    Wax is placed on a steam bath and brought to a liquid state.
2.    Crushed solid components are added to the wax and also melted.
3.    The dishes are removed from the fire, and all the contents are thoroughly mixed.
4.    Liquid and then essential oils are added to the resulting liquid.
5.    The whole mass is poured into small jars or into a tube, then placed in a cool dark place.
By the way, if you want the balm to be colored, use food coloring or juice from a berry or vegetable. So, raspberry gives a pink tint, currant – dark red color, and beets – burgundy. And now let's look at some recipes for making natural lip balm with you.

Once everything is at hand, start cooking. To do this, melt 2 tablespoons of petroleum jelly in a water bath, then add the chocolate grated on a fine grater to the melted mass and give it time to melt. Then take a pinch of cinnamon and add it to this mixture. When everything is melted, remove the liquid from the fire, mix well and pour into prepared containers.
