Skin biorhythms: how to care for your face depending on the time of day

5.00-7.00

From this time on, skin cells gradually stop dividing and the process of resistance to the environment begins. At night, tissue renewal is actively taking place, slowing down with the onset of morning. The skin, as well as the whole body, is preparing for wakefulness. You should not apply any nourishing or restorative products (creams or masks) in the morning, anyway, the components will not be able to penetrate as deeply as they are supposed to.

What will your skin like in the morning? Washing with cold or ice water – a pledge of good skin color and the presence of a fresh blush on the cheeks. And if you can't wake up, cold water will take away any remnants of sleep and sluggishness upon waking up.

Cosmetologists, like nutritionists, recommend to drink more fluids, and there are two explanations for this:

  1. a glass of water on an empty stomach will help start the digestion process, restore the lack of fluid in the body;
  2. Water in the morning will help balance the fluid levels in the skin cells, hydrating it and boosting the natural barrier.

To wake up – wash your face to moisturize your skin – start your morning with a glass of water.

7.00-8.00

This is the time of increased blood circulation and tissue nutrition. The content of important nutrients increases every minute in the skin. If you have sensitive skin, do not experiment with products, this may provoke an allergic reaction.

8.00-10.00

The process of vasoconstriction begins, the pressure rises. The capillaries are preparing to withstand the negative influence of the environment, so the walls become more sensitive. Do not take a hot bath at this time, sauna or wash your face with too hot water. Steaming the skin in the morning increases the chances of developing rosacea.

It is after 8 am that you should start applying makeup, because the sensitivity of the skin and the likelihood of allergies decreases.

10.00-12.00

The sebaceous glands begin to work actively, it is possible that a greasy sheen may appear on the face. Moreover, several hours have already passed after applying makeup. Therefore, if you ask the question of how to take care of your face closer to dinner, and at the same time observe your skin, the answer will be the appearance of fat on the forehead, chin, even cheeks. To prevent this, carry compact powder or matting wipes with you to remove oil from your face.

13.00-15.00

As the middle of the daylight hours approaches, a decrease in vascular tone is felt on the skin. The skin on the face loses its freshness, the color becomes dull, so the appearance shows signs of fatigue. This is due not only to general fatigue, but also to a lack of fluid in the body.

The same applies to cosmetic procedures – do not make an appointment with a beautician at this time, the skin will not receive any positive effect from the manipulations of a specialist even of the highest level of skill.

The time from 3 to 5 pm can be usefully spent on a manicure or pedicure. Since at this time the likelihood of bleeding decreases several times, it is also recommended to visit the dentist. 

17.00-20.00

This time is characterized by an increase in physical activity. Brain activity accelerates, muscle tone increases, internal organs are also activated. At the same time, the skin seems to wake up and prepare to receive life-giving components in order to start regeneration processes and relieve daytime stress.

It is recommended to do sports and carry out any cosmetic procedures at this time, the skin and the whole body as a whole will benefit from this.

20.00-22.00

The body prepares for toxin removal for the whole day, so at this time it is appropriate to go to the bath, sauna, take a shower or a hot bath. In addition, the biological clock works and the body prepares for going to bed, that is, it relaxes and calms down. Closer to 21.30 or 22.00, you can do any manipulations with the skin and apply a nourishing or moisturizing cream.

We also remember that eating after 21.00 affects the appearance. The sebaceous glands are activated, the pores are clogged, the complexion worsens, and no morning procedures can return a fresh glow to the skin.

The reason for this effect of the late meal – in a sharp decrease in the level of digestive enzymes, so everything that was eaten is poorly absorbed.

22.00-5.00

10 pm – perfect time to go to bed.

One hour before 24:00 is considered to be two hours after midnight. If you go to bed on time, the body will quickly restore strength and the morning will not seem so painful.

The regenerative process cycle closes at 5:00 am. At night, the skin recovers as quickly as possible and a cream or other product applied in the evening will work best and penetrate deep into the furthest layers of the skin.
