Of course, everyone knows this typology of C. Jung's personality. But for some reason, extroverted personalities are now held in high esteem, allegedly only they can be leaders, achieve success. But the lot of extroverts – loneliness and loneliness. And the majority break themselves, become more sociable, punchy, striving for the American formula for success, while experiencing internal discomfort and fatigue.
Let's take a closer look at the characteristics of these two personality types, while keeping in mind that pure types are almost never found, except perhaps in a psychiatric clinic.
General characteristics
Extrovert – a person who focuses on the world around him and other people, and an introvert is more directed "inside", into his thoughts and feelings. An extrovert is more prone to actions, deeds, and an introvert thinks carefully, reflects before saying a word. Therefore, there is a feeling that an introvert is less intelligent than a loud and much talking extrovert. But it's not.
Work
Extroverts can easily multi-task, they don't think for a long time, they make decisions quickly, and the quality of the tasks performed may suffer. But often they do not think about the consequences, they take risks, gamble, inspired by the ideas of superiority and material gain.
Introverts, on the other hand, can concentrate on only one task, they think for a long time, weigh all the pros and cons before making a decision. But at the same time, their work is almost perfect, effective, bringing results. They are not characterized by risk, speed, they are slowly but surely striving for success.
Rest
An introvert relaxes when he is alone or with a close friend, reading a book, enjoying music and nature. An extrovert almost never needs to gain strength, unless he has not talked much lately, then the best rest will be parties, active resorts, etc.
Communication
Extroverts can easily join any company and become its soul: humor, original toasts, interesting stories – this is the air for extroverts. With the same ease they resolve any conflicts. Introverts can easily communicate at parties, negotiate, and be the center of attention. But this is given to them through tension and, as a result, rapid fatigue. It is easier for them to express their thoughts in writing, then their speech is rich, rich. It is difficult for introverts in conflict situations, they get lost and do not know how to behave.
Don't confuse shyness with introversion. A shy person is one who is afraid of disapproval, condemnation, these are people with low self-esteem and painful experiences. And introvert doesn't mean insecure, he's just silent, listens a lot and thinks a lot.
Both an extrovert and an introvert can hold leadership positions, it's just that their management styles will be different, they can be successful and rich, they will just spend money and use their position in different ways.
And finally, famous introverts: Is. Newton; A. Einstein, Frederic Chopin, Steven Spielberg, Sergey Brin and Larry Page (creators of Google), J. Rowling (author of "Harry Potter"), M. Dostoevsky, A. Chekhov.
Famous extroverts: Julius Caesar, Napoleon, Winston Churchill, A. Dumas, Victor Hugo, M. Gorky, S. Yesenin.
