The love of coffee turned out to be disastrous for Balzac, who drank crushed coffee, poured in equal proportions with water, while working on his works. Contemporaries tend to believe that Voltaire also died early because of his addiction to this drink. Yes, and Catherine II became famous for the fact that for five cups she demanded to crush about 400 g of overseas grains.

However, nowadays a cup of coffee — it is not only a drink that promotes brainstorming (primarily among "office dwellers"), but also a style of conversation and an attribute of business negotiations. However, if you feel that you can pay for your adherence to this style with your health, then immediately get rid of caffeine addiction.

Coffee abuse can cause the development of hypertension and peptic ulcer

Our daily intake of caffeine found in coffee, chocolate and espresso exceeds the allowable limit of 200 ml per day. This means that you can safely drink three cups of strong coffee a day. But all the subsequent ones, drunk every day, can provoke the development of hypertension and peptic ulcer.

If you are used to pouring liters of coffee into yourself, then do not try to immediately limit yourself to one cup of latte. Reduce the dose gradually, every two days by 20%. And in any case, do not torture yourself. If you feel fatigue, dizziness, which often occur when you get rid of caffeine addiction, — allow yourself a cup of coffee with milk or a piece of dark chocolate.

How to get rid of caffeine addiction:

  • do it this weekend. Caffeine leaves the body in a day, and it will take two days to teach him to do without coffee. The state of lethargy that will accompany withdrawal is not the best for work. Therefore, it is better to rest at home;
  • drink clean water. Preferably at least 2 liters. It will cleanse the body and add energy;
  • Pamper yourself. Coffee is an element of pleasure for our emotional center. Try something else instead;
  • find a coffee substitute. They can be chicory or ginger tea. Green and black — banned because they contain enough caffeine.

Proper nutrition and healthy sleep against caffeine addiction

There are a few more rules to follow if you don't want to get bogged down in coffee grounds.

Eat on time. Doctors advise not to make breaks between meals for more than 3.5 hours. The fact is that caffeine provokes blood surges, and prolonged fasting reduces them. Therefore, forced hunger provokes another cup of coffee. To avoid this, you need to eat often. This will normalize blood pressure, and at the same time get rid of the addiction to sweets and the habit of snacking.

Don't skimp on sleep. Good sleep strengthens the immune system, as the body lives without additional stimulants and replenishes energy on its own.

Be active, it will help keep your blood circulation normal. Gentle walks, cycling (or a treadmill in the gym), evening walks help the blood pass through the liver and cleanse the body of toxins.

Take multivitamin complexes. Nutritional supplements can enrich the body with essential vitamins and improve blood circulation.

Replace the ritual. For many of us, a cup of coffee — just part of the ceremony. You should not refuse it, but you can replace the drink itself. For example, choose decaffeinated coffee or try the taste of aromatic tea, unknown before. And, of course, do not deny yourself a cup of coffee, which you are entitled to at least once a week.
