In some cases, we may recommend self-massage. This is usually done after lip augmentation with dense fillers.  They need to be kneaded, because such preparations are more difficult to fit. In addition, swelling after a dense filler will be stronger. I prefer to inject soft fillers that the patient does not feel in the lips. In such cases, there is no need for self-massage.

Smoking and alcohol do not increase the risk of allergic reactions, but these bad habits lead to vascular fragility and bruising after injections. 

Is it possible to kiss after lip augmentation? 

For the first 24 hours after lip augmentation, it is better to refrain from kissing. Approximately this is the time it takes for the drug to "lie down". When correcting asymmetry, we lay out the filler in a certain way. If after that you actively kiss, nothing dangerous will happen, but you can eliminate the effect of the procedure. Plus, it just hurts, so I recommend a little patience.

Can I visit a dentist the day after lip augmentation?

How to quickly get rid of swelling and bruising after lip correction? 

Appearance and degree of swelling  bruising largely depends on the condition of the patient's vessels. To reduce the severity of these side effects and hasten their disappearance, the doctor prescribes the homeopathic preparation arnica, which is taken 3 days before, on the day of the procedure, and for several days after the contouring procedure.

Do you recommend ibuprofen to relieve pain and swelling after injections? 

No. Ibuprofen and aspirin thin the blood. If they are taken before injections, hematomas are provided. Increased microcirculation will cause any injection site to bleed. 

Sensitivity in women is exacerbated a couple of days before menstruation and remains elevated during menstruation, as well as for several days after their completion. Therefore, it is better not to plan painful procedures for this period.

  To reduce the pain directly during injections, I use a fairly strong anesthetic cream. Most lip fillers include an anesthetic – lidocaine. Therefore, during lip augmentation, only the first few injections are felt, and then the procedure is more comfortable. 

Can I apply fenistil on my lips to reduce swelling after injections? 

I don't think it's necessary. First, this is not a lip ointment. Secondly, swelling after lip augmentation disappears after a maximum of 2 days. It is more pronounced in the morning and subsides in the evening. To reduce swelling before you arrive at work, you can get up an hour or two earlier than usual. Also, for bruises, heparin ointments are used. But I don’t prescribe such drugs and I advise you to just wait these couple of days. 

During the first 24 hours after the procedure, do not apply cold to the lips, because the hyaluronic acid will clump into balls. In general, do not expose your lips to extreme cold or hot. 

Herpes does not affect the effect of lip augmentation and its duration in any way. However, the injection can provoke the appearance of rashes. There is nothing to worry about, just use the usual drug. 

Regarding smoking: when a person smokes, a scar forms at the place where the cigarette is applied. In order not to displace the filler after lip correction, it is necessary to constantly change the place of the cigarette. The same goes for drinking straws. On the first day, it is better to refrain from such habits and it is advisable to not stretch your lips.

Is it possible to reverse the effect of injection lip correction 

The final result of lip augmentation can be assessed in a week. If you don't like the new lips, the effect can be reversed. To do this, we introduce an enzyme that destroys hyaluronic acid. By the way, this enzyme (hyaluronidase) is present in the body and naturally dissolves hyaluronic acid.
