The result of a successful plastic surgery often depends on the smallest details, even such strange ones as a perfect navel. This fact prompted Singaporean scientists to decide to determine the aesthetic parameters of the patient's navel after lipo abdominoplasty and abdominoplasty.
The results of the researchers' work were published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. In total, 5 characteristics of a beautiful navel were outlined. To study the ideal parameters, 37 navels of Playboy models were involved. Using a computer program, scientists analyzed the length, shape, horizontal and vertical position.
So, what are the parameters of an ideal navel? It should be:
- oval shape;
- located horizontally;
- small (the length of the umbilicus should correspond to 5% of the distance between the lower limit of the genital fissure and the xiphoid process of the sternum);
- located in a ratio of 46:54 on a vertical straight line between the xiphoid process of the sternum and the lower limit of the genital fissure;
- with or without an overlying skin fold.
According to scientists, the data they provided will help to form the ideal shape and size of the navel, as well as its location during plastic surgery in the abdomen.
