There are two types of protein in dairy products: casein and whey protein. Of total protein 80% is casein, and 20% — serum. The difference between whey and  casein is how they are absorbed. Whey protein is rapidly digested and quickly absorbed into the bloodstream, resulting in an increase in insulin.

Casein is slowly absorbed by the body. It reacts with milk fats and falls out in stomach clots. It is very difficult for the body to break down casein. A slow digestion process is bad for the gastrointestinal tract. There are constipation or diarrhea, flatulence.

Lactose — it is a carbohydrate that can also cause gastrointestinal problems. In the body, lactose is absorbed with the help of lactase, which is produced by the intestinal villi. If the body stops producing enough of this enzyme, then the milk is not digested.

Children's organism up to 5 years of age is capable of high activity of lactase. With age, enzyme function decreases, and an individual level of lactase is formed up to 18 years. It is so low that a person may be allergic to milk.

Cow's milk doesn't meet the nutritional needs of people, so it's no wonder dairy consumption causes so many problems. You can replenish the reserves of trace elements in the body with other healthy foods. Fish with bones, greens, seafood, legumes, sesame, poppy seeds— sources of calcium. If you include spinach, cabbage, citrus fruits, bananas, tomatoes and prunes in your diet, you can saturate the body with potassium.
