Look around you: in the room, in the garage, in the pantry, there are a lot of things that you don’t use or that were used only once and quietly take up space in a closet or on a shelf. Think how many things were bought unplanned, for many reasons: I liked it, or it may be needed, the child screamed and demanded, or the wife was offended: is it really a pity for her beloved? As a result, there is not enough money, there is a feeling of inferiority and anger. On the nose of the New Year and the time to analyze your lifestyle on the subject: the number of old things and how not to let the temptation take effect in the New Year, how to properly allocate time and money. To properly build your lifestyle, consider who invented such a mechanism: work 8 hours a day and spend more money, what is really needed. Then we'll look at how lifestyle changes relate to work schedules.
Who invented the modern consumer culture and who is behind it
The time of slavery has long passed, but we still remain slaves of our psychological problems, fears, and the largest companies have found a way to influence the consumer and "force" buy a particular product or service. So, in order. Global companies have been managing our desires and creating a certain culture of consumption for more than one millennium, so changing the lifestyle of an ordinary worker is simply impossible. Although, is this really so, more on that later.
When a family goes to a store to buy, for example, a necessary thing for a child – winter jacket, the child finds a toy for himself, which he demands to buy, begins to whine, makes a scandal. Parents have no choice but to indulge these whims and buy a toy, plus promise to buy another one for the New Year, more expensive and better. Thus, "corporation" gets not even a double benefit, but a triple one. When a person is dissatisfied with his life, he tries to atone for such "guilt" and dissatisfaction with purchases, whether it be a new coat, boots, another watch, or a trip to a restaurant, a beauty salon, or a trip to a spa. All in order to correspond to the status, to show everyone their viability. And to the question: was it really necessary? – shrug modestly. So, why do we buy things: to show that I am no worse than others, to pamper ourselves or cheer up, regret, praise. From childhood, we are instilled with a culture of necessary things that are not just possible, but extremely necessary to buy, the child remembers this, and in adulthood he transfers all the previously acquired knowledge. Therefore, global companies make more than one million on the introduction of such a culture of consumption.
The forty-hour week was introduced in the 19th century, after the industrial revolution in England. With the development of progress, a person learned to minimize the time to perform the same work, but reducing the time to complete it became impossible. What is the reason that the work that can be done in 3-4 hours, we do the whole day, or even more.
Parkinson's Law: Truth or Fiction?
Parkinson's Law states: Work fills the time allotted for it. This is an empirical law, which was formulated by the famous historian Cyril Parkinson in & nbsp; satirical article in 1955, first published in a British magazine and included in the book Parkinson's Law. The law means: the work is done exactly as much as the time allotted for it. For example, if a secretary needs to process a certain number of letters in one day, then this amount of work will be done no more and no less than a day. But in fact, such a volume of work can be completed in 4 hours maximum, if such deadlines are set. In 1 hour, a person can do an incredible amount, if you give it exactly an hour, no more and no less. And indeed it is. This is exactly what happens with our funds. If we start earning more, then the costs increase accordingly. We just allow ourselves to "squander" a little, because we can afford it. Changing the way of life of a person of such a culture of consumption is very difficult, because it is a hostage of this same culture.
Is it possible to change lifestyle outside of the 8-hour work schedule
Question: Is it possible to change these patterns and not depend on the 8-hour chart? It is possible if the work is done according to the time that is needed, even if the deadlines for completion are longer. And there is only one way out: self-control, no matter how difficult it is. There is no need to run away from the system of consumption, close from offers and live in the wilderness. You just need to analyze your every step and purchase.
How to equalize income and expenses
Think about how much joy you can bring yourself for free, without going to a restaurant or fitness. Instead of the gym, work out at home with the whole family: walking, jogging, racing, this is not only good for health, but also effectively affects family relationships. Instead of going to a restaurant, prepare a field trip, it's hard to argue with the benefits of such a vacation. And the mood is good, the children are happy, health will improve. Instead of going to a sports club to play bowling or tennis, spend a one-time fee on equipment – play outdoors to your heart's content. Do not find excuses that it is winter outside: snowball fights are not an option, or ice skating. Let the New Year 2016 just live wastefully, see how much money you save, and how much good mood you get, you can even take photos for an exhibition, and many impressions. Set your priorities and follow them. Lifestyle change – it's easy, the main thing is to want it.
