Эффективно и безболезненно: уникальные свойства неинвазивной карбокситерапии

The beneficial properties of carbon dioxide have been used in medicine, including aesthetic medicine, for many years. Every year the procedure of non-invasive carboxytherapy becomes more and more popular: a wide range of indications, ease of implementation, high efficiency and instant results have made it a favorite for many women and men.

In more detail about the indications, the mechanism of action and the results of the non-invasive therapy procedure, exclusively for estet-portal.com, Daniil Kashik, a doctor of aesthetic medicine, a coach of the Ukrainian Aesthetic company, spoke.

What are the indications for non-invasive carboxytherapy

Non-invasive carboxytherapy – it is a procedure that allows to achieve a visible correction of a number of aesthetic problems.

There are such indications for non-invasive carboxytherapy:

1.    Presence of signs of photo-, chronoaging;

2.    Couperose, telangiectasias;

3.    Rosacea, acne, post-acne;

4.    Hyperpigmentation of various etiologies;

5.    Decreased skin tone and turgor;

6.    Enlarged pores;

7.    Impaired hydro-lipid balance.

For best results, a course of 5 treatments spaced one week apart is required.

Mechanism of action of non-invasive carboxytherapy: how it works

The mechanism of action of the non-invasive carboxytherapy procedure is based on the implementation of the so-called Verigo-Bohr effect (the name comes from the names of scientists who first discovered this phenomenon independently in 1892).

The essence of the Verigo-Bohr effect is that an increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide in the tissues leads to an increase in their consumption of oxygen from the blood vessels – i.e. increased tissue oxygenation.

In addition to high concentrations of carbon dioxide, factors such as high temperature and low pH also contribute to increased tissue oxygen consumption.

All these conditions are provided during the procedure of non-invasive carboxytherapy.
Applying the gel to the skin contributes to a shift in pH to the alkaline side, however, applying the mask leads to a reverse acidification of the environment – a necessary condition for improving skin oxygenation.

When the non-invasive carboxytherapy kit gel and mask are combined, a chemical reaction occurs that produces carbon dioxide directly on the surface of the skin.

At the same time, the mask is a kind of protective screen that prolongs the Bohr effect and does not allow carbon dioxide to quickly evaporate from the skin surface. This lengthens the time of oxygen starvation of the cells, thereby contributing to their increased consumption of oxygen from the vessels.

Non-invasive oxygen therapy: noticeable rejuvenation after the first treatment

When carbon dioxide enters the capillaries from the tissues, hemoglobin gives the cells more oxygen than under standard conditions.

In response to an increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide, there is an increase in the intensity of blood flow and activation of cell proliferation.

As a result of – there is an improvement in the processes of microcirculation and lymphatic drainage, as well as an increase in the synthesis of components of the intercellular matrix. The tissues are saturated with oxygen, the processes of their self-renewal are activated. The skin becomes more hydrated, and already after the first procedure, its noticeable rejuvenation is observed.

What ingredients are used in non-invasive carboxytherapy

The effect of non-invasive carboxytherapy is realized due to the presence of several highly active components. These include:

1.    purslane extract – has a tonic and wound-healing effect;

2.    chamomile extract – contains alpha-bisabolol, which has anti-inflammatory and soothing effects. Thanks to this, the procedure is completely painless and does not lead to reddening of the skin in the future;

3.    Centella Asiatica – contributes to the normalization of water-salt metabolism in skin cells and the resolution of swelling of the periorbital region;

4.    licorice root extract – contains glycyrrhizin, flavonoids, carbolic acid, sterols, being a powerful antioxidant and helping to whiten and even out skin tone;

5.    grapefruit extract, mountain arnica extract – contain vitamin C;

6.    chitosan– polysaccharide, which has a general strengthening effect.
Non-invasive carboxytherapy can be used to rejuvenate and improve any skin type.

Non-invasive carboxytherapy protocol

The non-invasive carboxytherapy procedure includes two main components: a non-woven mask and an activator gel, the interaction of which leads to the formation of carbon dioxide.

The procedure protocol consists of several stages:

1.    It is necessary to thoroughly cleanse and dry the skin of the face. I recommend using a special SNOW O2 oxygen purifier from GENOSYS (official representative – UKRAINIAN AESTHETICS). After that, the skin should be wiped with cotton pads dipped in – SNOW O2 Booster Toner;

2.    Open the tube of gel and, using a spatula, apply its contents evenly on the face. It is very important to make sure that the contents of the tube have been used in full – this is a necessary condition for the effectiveness of the procedure;

3.    We open the package with the mask, carefully straighten it and apply it tightly on the face. At this point, the patient may feel a slight tingling sensation. Mask exposure time – 10 minutes;

4.    Remove the mask, then – remove the gel using wipes soaked in cool water. It is important to make sure that the gel has been completely removed from the skin of the face;

5.    At the end of the procedure, we apply a cream from the company GENOSYS on the patient's face. The specialist selects the remedy individually depending on the condition of the patient's skin.
According to the standard protocol, this procedure should be applied once a week. The course consists of 5 procedures.

If the patient has conditions such as post-acne and hyperkeratosis, then it is advisable to perform the procedure twice a week.

What to pay attention to when performing non-invasive carboxytherapy

The doctor should carefully avoid getting drugs into the eyes – this can be dangerous.
Non-Invasive Carboxytherapy Kit must be stored in a cool, dry place away from children.

Contents should be used immediately after opening the package.
After the non-invasive carboxytherapy procedure, the patient should avoid exposure to intense ultraviolet radiation.

Non-invasive carboxytherapy can be done on its own or as a preparation for a more aggressive treatment – procedure PRX-T33 (performed after a course of carboxytherapy).

Since the preparations contain highly active ingredients – there is a risk of developing an allergic reaction, which is important to warn the patient about. If an allergic reaction develops, the patient should immediately consult a doctor.
