Eyes are not only a mirror of the soul, but also the most vivid reflection of a woman's age, especially when it comes to the condition of the skin around the eyes. Therefore, one of the most popular anti-aging procedures in aesthetic cosmetology is the correction of the nasolacrimal sulcus.

With age, the soft tissues of the face in the area around the eyes become thinner and shift downward, which leads to the appearance of a pronounced nasolacrimal groove. Not so long ago, the nasolacrimal groove, which forms distinct circles under the eyes, was not corrected by plastic surgeons, since other areas of the face could be corrected by a lift, and what to do with the area under the eyes remained unclear for a long time. As a result, the excellent result of the corrected oval of the face was in sharp contrast with the lowered infraorbital zone, without giving the proper effect of rejuvenation.

Over time, plastic surgeons have learned to solve this problem: today, a mid-face lift, filling the nasolacrimal sulcus with fat packages of the lower eyelids, the use of implants and various fillers gives a good effect. Recently, surgeons are increasingly resorting to lipofilling to correct the infraorbital zone. This technique has a number of advantages over other methods of nasolacrimal sulcus correction. Firstly, lipofilling is a minimally invasive operation that allows you to get by with a short rehabilitation period and minimal risk of complications. Secondly, this method is most suitable in the case when it is supposed to correct only one area on the face - the nasolacrimal groove, without radically changing other facial features.

Lacrimal trough lipofilling is one of the most complex corrective operations, but the rejuvenating effect of this correction is most clearly visible. The complexity of the operation is that the skin in this area is very thin, and if lipofilling is performed incorrectly, the injected fat can contour and clump. In addition, care must be taken when injecting fat cells also in order to avoid damage to the eyes by the needle or cannula.

Correction of the nasolacrimal sulcus by lipofilling always requires a very clear analysis of this area and determination of the contours of the injection of adipose tissue. For the operation, microcannulas are used, which allow fat cells to be injected precisely into the desired area, very carefully, in a thin layer, avoiding excessive accumulation of fat. The introduction is made using a fan technique, enriched adipose tissue is used in the form of a gel-like mass, which is easily distributed to the right places.

Lipofilling of the nasolacrimal sulcus is a low-traumatic operation, so the rehabilitation period after it is very short. Usually swelling and small bruises disappear within a week. But the full result of the operation can be fully assessed no earlier than 2 months later - after the complete engraftment of the injected adipose tissue.

As a rule, patients like the result of nasolacrimal sulcus lipofilling, because, in addition to correcting the lost volume in the area under the eyes, the enriched adipose tissue during transplantation has a beneficial effect on the skin of the lower eyelid, providing a lifting effect. As a result, the overall rejuvenation of the face is beyond doubt.

To enhance the rejuvenating effect and if there are indications for surgery, lipofilling of the nasolacrimal trough is often combined with lipofilling of the lips, zygomatic region. We offer you a fragment of a video where Professor Patrick Tonnard demonstrated his own technique for introducing adipose tissue into the area of the nasolacrimal sulcus:
