Dry air is known to accelerate skin aging. And insufficient moisture can cause many problems, ranging from nasal congestion to chronic bronchitis. It is not difficult to avoid this if you constantly maintain optimal humidity in the room. Various humidifiers help to achieve this. There is only one — study the technical specifications and choose the right one for a particular room.
Humidifiers: traditional, climatic and sinks
Traditional humidifiers work by natural evaporation. You can painlessly pour water from the tap — all excess will remain on the filter sponge. And the device itself does not over-humidify the air.
Benefits: Economical, self-regulating operation.
Disadvantage: noisy fan, sponge needs to be replaced every two to three months.
Climatic systems work on the same principle as traditional humidifiers. Purify the air from the smallest particles and microbes.
Advantages: they have additional functions of air ionization and aromatization.
Disadvantage: oversized.
Air washers. Evaporation occurs from the surface of the discs submerged in water, and the fan enhances the evaporation efficiency. Dust sticks to the discs and is then washed off into the sump. Some devices of this type are equipped with a special cartridge with antibacterial impregnation, which destroys harmful microorganisms.
Benefits: Operates without replaceable filters.
Disadvantage: oversized
Science — technology: steam and ultrasonic humidifiers
Simply boiling water produces steam. Must have a humidity sensor and a circuit breaker, otherwise the apartment may turn into a tropic. Benefit
: Produces clean steam regardless of water quality.
consumes a lot of energy, suitable for large apartments (ideally — for a home). Ultrasonic humidifier diffuses water into tiny droplets. Silent operation.
Advantage: compact.
Disadvantages:only softened (distilled) water must be used to avoid lime deposits on the walls. Change the filter every two to three months.
