A large-scale study conducted by WHO over 20 years has shown how much the priorities in the diet of people have changed over this period. The countries where people eat best and worst were also named. The results of this study are reported by The Daily Mail.

The study took place on all continents and affected 197 countries of the world. In total, the study analyzed the responses of 4.5 billion citizens of these countries. All questions related directly to the diet of each of them.

So the scientists made up questions on three nutrition patterns. The first included only healthy food, the second – harmful foods and the third included a general diet of 17 food groups. People were asked to indicate in each group the frequency and frequency of eating certain foods.

During the study, scientists noted that in the richer countries of America, Western Europe and Australia, the popularity of healthy eating and wholesome products has increased. Unfortunately, this did not affect the overall result of the study and these countries were not included in the list of countries with the healthiest diet. A similar phenomenon has been noted by scientists over the past 10 years in the CIS countries. Unfortunately, most of these countries also did not make the "healthy" list.

Scientists explain this by the fact that although among the inhabitants of these countries an interest in healthy eating has increased, they still consume too many harmful products.

Besides this, scientists noted some other features that link countries together. So the elderly, women and children under 12 in almost all countries consume more healthy foods than other residents of the country.
