Many people confuse the varieties of mushrooms, and this sometimes leads to very dangerous consequences.

The best (if I may say so) that can be experienced by eating poisonous mushrooms – indigestion. And, of course, the worst thing you can imagine in such a situation – fatal outcome.

Estet-portal.com knows everything about mushroom poisoning (symptoms, what should be done urgently, etc.).

Mushroom poisoning: signs, timing, first aid

Most often, the first signs of intoxication appear a couple of hours after poisonous mushrooms enter the stomach. However, it also happens that this time can be reduced to an average of 30 minutes. or, on the contrary, significantly increase up to a quarter of a day. There are also situations when signs of poisoning appear even after 1-2 weeks (an example is intoxication with a poisonous lepiota or cobweb).

Basically, the timing of mushroom poisoning directly depends on the individual indicators of each person (weight, age) and other factors directly related to the poisonous product itself: the method of preparation, the amount taken in food, the degree of toxicity.

It is important to consider that the body of children is most sensitive to the harmful effects of toxic substances, therefore, in this case, signs of intoxication appear much faster, while the course of the disease – much harder.

  1. Of course, first of all, you should quickly call an ambulance. And while she is driving, the poisoned person needs to drink as much water as possible and induce vomiting to wash the stomach.

  2. The next cleansing step: the patient must drink  activated charcoal (in such cases, a loading dose – of at least one tablet per 10 kg of weight is required).

  3. A warm compress applied to the patient's legs will help restore the disturbed blood circulation process.

  4. If the poisoned person does not have diarrhea, it is recommended to take a laxative.

  5. A victim of poisonous mushroom poisoning should not be left; before the ambulance arrives, he must constantly measure his pressure and temperature.

In order to speed up recovery, the course of treatment prescribed by the doctor can be supplemented with folk methods of combating mushroom intoxication. This will help: drinking tea with chamomile, as well as potato juice; a good sorbing effect will be the intake of rice water or the use of boiled rice.

In order not to get poisoned by mushrooms, follow the simple rules for collecting them, but you should also cook this popular product from the forest correctly. If you suspect poisoning, call your doctor as soon as possible – in this case, every minute counts.
