According to Ayurvedic nutrition, spices are the best medicine. We are not talking about the spices that we are accustomed to seasoning food to give a certain taste, such as salt and sugar. And, of course, not about seasonings containing, in addition to useful herbs, preservatives and dyes. This refers to those roots, stems, leaves and flowers of plants that help to neutralize poisons and remove toxins.

Since we get most of them with food, let's try to figure out which spices help is needed.

Food, as you know, in addition to beneficial effects on the body, has also harmful. Neutralize it — without unwanted side effects — spices help. However, to obtain such an effect, you should know what products they are combined with.

Milk causes allergies, constipation, heaviness in the stomach.

Spices that neutralize the effect of milk:

  • cinnamon;
  • carnation;
  • nutmeg;
  • ginger.

White bread promotes weight gain.

Spices that neutralize the effects of bread:

  • cumin;
  • ginger;
  • cardamom.

Fatty food provokes heartburn, increases blood cholesterol levels and reduces the amount of antioxidants, promotes the growth of cancer cells.

  • turmeric.

Grain legumes  cause a feeling of heaviness in the abdomen, constipation, drowsiness.

Spices that neutralize the effect of legumes:

  • ginger;

  • cumin;
  • nutmeg.

Sugar-containing foods (sweets, starchy foods) increase the level of cholesterol in the blood, & nbsp; which contributes to the development of diabetes.

Spices that neutralize the effects of sugar:

  • cardamom;
  • turmeric;
  • cinnamon;
  • ginger;
  • nutmeg.

Ayurvedic nutrition: coriander for heartburn and anise for flatulence

To improve digestion. Prepare the next mixture. Mix freshly ground black pepper with nutmeg and cloves (2:0.5:0.5). Add during meals.
For the treatment of heartburn. 2 tsp. coriander pour 1 cup boiling water. Insist 1 hour. Strain. Drink 1 glass four to five times a day.
For flatulence. Take ¼ tsp mint, anise, cumin, fennel. Pour 300 ml of water into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Put the prepared mixture into boiling water and let it boil. Remove from heat and insist in a warm place for 5 hours. Strain. Drink in small sips throughout the day.
