Each of us needs a massage sooner or later. But it is not always possible to go to a professional massage therapist. However, having certain knowledge in the field of massage, you can conduct it yourself. We will tell you the basic rules and give practical tips for doing massage at home.

It is best done in a room where the air temperature is at least 20оC. This helps to relax the muscles. If a person is cold, it is better to warm them up first (for example, with a shower), and only then proceed with the massage.

Massage is best done in good light, so you will not get tired quickly. But in no case do it under the influence of direct sunlight, as this may adversely affect the skin of the person being massaged.

Do not massage in a draft: the back warmed up by the massage can simply be blown out. Massage is best done on a stable surface. If there is no couch or the bed is very soft, you can even do it on the floor with a blanket first.

Do not make unnecessary and abrupt movements. It is best if you have the same control over your right and left hand. All movements must be precise, but soft and fluid.

The position you take while doing the massage should be comfortable. If you sit or stand in an uncomfortable position, you will quickly get tired.

Before the massage, the person to whom it will be done is better to take a warm shower. You can also rub warm oil on his back.

It is best to massage on bare skin. But if there is a lot of hair on its surface, massage can irritate their roots. In this case, it is better to do it through a thin and breathable fabric.

In principle, massage is indicated for all healthy people. But its features depend on many factors, for example, age. For young and middle-aged people, massage should be more energetic than for children and older people.
