The area around the eyes is exactly the area that gives out your age in the first place, even if you have perfect skin and a taut face oval. It is the periorbital zone that begins to age first showing noticeable age-related changes. This is a very sensitive area, it is difficult to correct it, but it is possible and necessary.
In this material, Yulia Belous, a cosmetologist, founder of the FaceLab cosmetology clinic, introduces us to the methods of effective correction, treatment and prevention.

The periorbital zone as an age catalyst or how to get a younger look
Periorbital zone – This is the area around the eyes. There are three types of periorbital zone:
- Mimic and static wrinkles;
- Dark circles under the eyes;
- Bags under the eyes.
Mimic wrinkles
Mimic wrinkles occur due to the activity of the muscles of the face – smile, expression of emotion, narrowed eyes. The area around the eyes begins to strain as much as possible, squeezing the skin. As a result of such daily movements, which break the same tissue, wrinkles are formed. There is nothing we can do other than relax the muscle to minimize its activity.

In the fight against mimic wrinkles around the eyes or "crow's feet" we need to apply the following techniques:
- Botulinum toxin;
- Microcurrents;
- Relaxing massages.
If there is a problem with crow's feet, they do not need to be stabbed with hyaluronic acid, mesotherapy and biorevitalization will not help them, only muscle relaxation will help.
Static wrinkles are formed under the eyes due to thinning of the skin, loss of elasticity (the skin becomes flabby) and the appearance of a fine wrinkled network. It is very difficult to fight these wrinkles, we cannot inject hyaluronic acid or Botox there. The only option used by cosmetologists – improvement of tissue regeneration and structure with the help of mesotherapy, biorevitalization, plasmotherapy, peeling, RF-lifting.
If a fine wrinkled network has formed, then creams and serums, unfortunately, will not help. Cosmetologists recommend starting care for the area around the eyes from the age of 20 for prevention. Do not be afraid that due to early care there will be concomitant consequences, on the contrary, you will delay the process of wrinkles as much as possible.

Mesotherapy – it is a vitamin complex that solves a specific problem. It can be aimed at moisturizing, brightening, toning, improving the structure of blood vessels.
RF lifting – this is the effect of a hardware technique, namely, heating the tissues until new collagen is produced.
Dark circles
There are many reasons for dark circles under the eyes:
1. Pigmentation. To solve this cause, brightening procedures are carried out, for example, peeling, mesotherapy, biorevitalization, resurfacing, as well as homemade brightening serums.
2. Very thin skin through which the muscle is visible (purple). Unfortunately, nothing drastic can be done to solve this cause. In individual cases, you can make the skin thicker. To slow down the thinning of the skin will help procedures that start the regeneration – mesotherapy, biorevitalization.
3. Very thin skin through which vessels are visible. This problem is more treatable. The beautician prescribes vascular mesotherapy, which strengthens blood vessels and tissue. In addition, cosmetologists prescribe home care – funds that are aimed at improving blood vessels – creams, ointments. This recipe will also help: mix lyoton and troxevasin in equal proportions with a regular eye cream. This mixture gives a very good effect.
4. Nasolacrimal groove - a lack of volume of the skin under the eyes or omission of tissue. May occur with lack of sleep. If the furrow is chronic – hyaluronic acid will help, which lifts the frame and smoothes out the lack of space.
5. Swelling due to lack of sleep. In this case, it is necessary to pierce vascular preparations that will improve trophism and lymph flow. At home, cold can be applied to the swollen area.
Bags under the eyes
There are two types of bags under the eyes – hernias fatty or watery. If you have fatty ones, you need to contact a surgeon, if you have watery – beautician can help. Of the general recommendations, if there is puffiness under the eyes, which is expressed in bags under the eyes, necessary:
- Sleep with your head held high to promote normal lymphatic circulation.
- make a figure-eight movement (draw a figure-eight from the eyebrow to the lower corner of the eye to improve lymph flow), move your fingers from the outer to the inner corner of the eye.
- use vascular mesotherapy.
Painting bags
Painting bags – it is a superficial fat that is very sensitive to water. Occurs with swelling. Lymphatic drainage massage, piercing lipolytics, and weight loss will help get rid of the paint bag. Avoid heavy application of creams and serums.
How to choose and apply eye cream
In choosing professional care, it is best to leave it to yourself and go to a doctor who will examine your skin, tissue and the problem in general.
How to choose the right care:
- If there is puffiness, light helium textures should be used.
- Fine mesh, flabbiness and loss of elasticity - denser textures should be used.
How to apply under the eyes:
For puffiness – from the inner to the outer: with the fingertips we move the lower eyelid as far as possible to the temporal zone, bring the upper eyelid to the outer corner of the eye, draw a figure eight from the eyebrow to the lower corner of the eye to improve lymph flow. With wrinkles – circular movements around the eyelid and the movement of the eight for prevention of mimic wrinkles.
When to do injections and peels in the periorbital zone
Peelings, injections, polishing can be done all year round.
When taking care of the area around the eyes, you should adhere to a certain schedule: autumn (November) – start with peeling. Closer to spring, mesotherapy, biorevitalization should be pierced on young skin. The whole process should be supported in combination with home care (creams, serums, massages in the periorbital zone).
There are limitations after injection and peeling:
- do not visit saunas, solariums, baths, hot steam baths for 7 days.
- Sunscreen should be used during the hot summer months and sunburn on the face should be avoided.
- wear sunglasses to protect the skin, minimize mimic wrinkles, improve statics, tone skin color.
For patients aged forty years and above, the beautician recommends resurfacing – a single procedure that gives a quick, high-quality result, promotes the production of collagen and elastin. During grinding, the lower and upper eyelids are worked out. With a pronounced nasolacrimal sulcus – injection procedures are carried out.
The area around the eyes requires constant care, do not ignore its importance. Modern cosmetic and medical procedures will help delay age-related changes in the periorbital zone. Also, do not forget about home care, because even folk methods with applying warm black tea bags, chilled spoons or fresh cucumber to the area around the eyes will help remove puffiness, significantly improve skin tone and color.
