But maybe it's your diet that's causing the failure, and your only diet healthy menu includes foods for a flat tummy that aren actually not? Let's find out.

"Deceptive" products for a flat stomach: looking for and finding the guilty

First of all, when starting a diet, it is useful to keep a food diary, in which you will record everything you drank and ate during the day. This will allow you to analyze your diet and understand which foods in it are undesirable.

But if the extra grams or kilograms refuse to leave exactly the abdominal area or the stomach looks unusually large, the reason may lie in such food products:

  • Legumes. Peas, lentils, beans, beans, and other edible legumes — a very valuable food product that helps regulate lipid metabolism and prevents the deposition of cholesterol on the walls of blood vessels. But if you include beans in your diet every day, they can negatively affect your bowel work. By increasing gas production, the beans increase the volume of the intestines, which leads to a visual increase in the abdomen.

  • Cabbage. Another diet food that can make your belly even bigger than it was before the diet. The reason for this — coarse fiber and a large amount of sugars — a combination that provokes fermentation in the intestines and, just like legumes, an increase in the volume of the abdomen. True, this only applies to raw cabbage — boiled, stewed or otherwise prepared, you can eat without fear.

  • Foods high in starch.

    This category includes potatoes, rice and bananas, which are recommended in a number of dietary systems. The content of starch in them significantly slows down the metabolism in general and, in particular, the breakdown of fats.

  • Fruits.

    Although fruits seem like the best alternative to sweets when dieting and are on the healthy food list, many of them are high in sugar. Grapes, sweet pears and apples and even watermelons and melons — the first "suspects" the  that the fat from  the belly leaves more slowly than you would like .

  • A large amount of visceral fat.

    This condition is often observed in metabolic syndrome and metabolic disorders, as a result of which more than necessary, the amount of fat is deposited on the internal organs.

  • Too much liquid.

    Drinking plenty — an important component of weight loss. But the excess liquid that you drink in the form of water, teas, juices, and other drinks will lead to accumulation in soft tissues and, as a result, an increase in the size of the abdomen.

  • Not enough food.

    You can maintain your caloric content carefully, but if you eat very little food, so-called "hunger constipation" — a condition in which the contents of the intestine are not enough to activate peristalsis. The accumulation of feces very quickly leads to the appearance of the abdomen.
