Техника правильного дыхания: учимся дышать животом

Breath – the same natural process as sleeping and eating. It supports vitality and energy. But many do not think about his technique. People just breathe and that's it. But this must be done correctly, both during active physical exertion and in everyday life. After all, health and well-being depend on it. Proper breathing is given special attention in India and other eastern countries. So why don't we learn from them? The editors of the online publication will tell you how you can master the technique of the natural process in practice.

Correct breathing: what it is

Many people breathe incorrectly, that is, through the mouth and chest. As a result, they choke on long sentences and feel pain in the vocal cords during prolonged communication. But it is necessary to breathe naturally and deeply, that is, through the nose and stomach. Such breathing is considered diaphragmatic. After all, the diaphragm is involved here. It is a muscular septum that separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity and resembles a dome.

Proper breathing – this is when a person inhales air through the nose, and exhales – through the mouth. When you inhale, the stomach protrudes, like a child, and when you exhale, it retracts.

In a natural process, the diaphragm and abdominal muscles are completely relaxed. On inspiration, the chest is expanded, and the muscular septum is lowered, which contributes to the entry of air into the lungs. On exhalation, the diaphragm rises and air is released.

Why you need to strive for proper breathing

It is necessary for every person to master this technique. After all, it is the key to excellent health. By breathing deeply, through the belly and through the nose, you thereby improve the functioning of the body, physical fitness, mental abilities and overall well-being.

Diaphragmatic breathing contributes to the flow of oxygen into each cell.

The brain and other vital organs are filled with this important substance, which ensures their further functioning. Due to the better saturation of the body with oxygen, a person forgets about headaches, dizziness, bloating and loss of strength. And since with such breathing the diaphragm massages the internal organs, constipation, inflammation, and pain in the abdomen disappear.

In general, correct breathing gives a lot, namely:
•    calms the nervous system;
•    lowers blood pressure;
•    improves blood circulation;
•    supports the detoxification of the body;
•    helps prevent asthma attacks;
•    activates mental activity;
•    prevents heart attack;
•    teach you to control your emotions;
•    reduces fatigue;
     relieves stress and develops stress resistance;
•    strengthens health;
•    gives energy to a person;

But breathing through the mouth affects the health of the body in a bad way. Due to the fact that the muscles of the diaphragm pinch and limit the lungs, much less oxygen enters the body than it needs. This leads to the fact that the immune system is weakened, and overall health deteriorates. The person feels tired and lethargic. In addition, the skin also suffers. It begins to peel off and takes on an unhealthy color, as it feels a lack of oxygen and nutrients.

And if you breathe through your mouth in winter, then frequent colds and sore throats cannot be avoided. No less suffers and posture. After all, the muscles of the diaphragm and the internal muscles of the press are weakened, then atrophy, which leads to stoop. Often people who lead a sedentary lifestyle breathe incorrectly. Simple workouts that can be done anywhere: at home, at work or in nature will help to eradicate this habit and master the technique of proper breathing.

Proper breathing technique: moving from theory to practice

Before you start practicing, do a test: put your palms on the navel area and inhale deeply. Next, take a deep breath. If your stomach bulges when you inhale, you are breathing naturally. And if it is motionless, and the chest, on the contrary, falls and rises, then you need to learn the technique of proper breathing.

First, sit comfortably on a chair, couch, or rug. Then put your right hand on your stomach, and your left – on the chest. At the same time, try to breathe long, deep and through the nose. As you exhale, relax your abdomen, and as you exhale through your mouth, tighten your abdominal muscles and expel the air. And try to reduce the number of breaths to 8 per minute.

Repeat this exercise every day and as often as possible. At first, you will feel some discomfort, but over time, the unusual process will become a habit for you, and there will be no trace of discomfort.

Some important things to know

To easily master the technique of correct breathing, pay attention to the following:
•    Check your posture. The stoop leads to tension and compression of the diaphragm. So try to walk straight and sit – smooth. Also do exercises to strengthen your back muscles.

Make your posture beautiful, and your breath – yoga, qigong and Pilates help the right way.

•    In the pauses between sentences, try to breathe slowly and measuredly.
•    If you want to yawn, take a sip. This technique will help you avoid releasing excess air.
Having mastered the technique of proper breathing, you will learn to take fewer breaths, as a result of which every cell of your body will be saturated with oxygen, and the quality of life will change for the better.
