In addition to the listed complaints, which in the medical language are collectively called astheno-neurotic syndrome, skin symptoms occupy a separate place in the clinical manifestations of hypovitaminosis.

Sometimes patients complain of peeling of the skin between the toes, a feeling of itching and redness in places where the skin is peeling. Periodically, the peeling fades away, but after a few days the process resumes. Such symptoms and their affected area are typical for a fungal infection. But other data should also be taken into account: the winter season, wearing warm and, most importantly, closed shoes for a long time, which provokes local hyperhidrosis.

Also in the anamnesis it is important to clarify the presence of concomitant pathology, the postpartum period, the menopause period, prolonged stress, past viral infections. All these factors directly reduce the immune function of the body, and this entails at first an increased consumption of vitamins and microelements, and then their deficiency at all – hypovitaminosis.

Three ways to treat hypovitaminosis

1. Vitamin therapy:

- Vitamin A (retinol), responsible for the process of skin regeneration, is the main vitamin for skin, hair and nails. The daily requirement of the vitamin is 50,000-100,000 IU for adults and 5,000-10,000-20,000 IU for children and adolescents.

Acceptance course – 2-3 months.

- Retinol can also be applied topically as an oil solution or retinoic ointment 0.05-0.1% twice a day for 4-12 weeks.

- Vitamin E (tocopherol acetate) – powerful antioxidant, inhibits the processes of oxidative stress. The daily requirement is 7-10 mg. Reception course – 2-3 months.

2. Foot hygiene: Keep your shoes and socks in good condition, dry and clean at all times.

  • Use replacement footwear made from natural materials.
  • Walk barefoot if possible.
  • Apply talcum powder to feet and often decaying areas before putting on shoes.

3. Foot baths are considered an excellent treatment for cracked toes:

- with soda (for 2 liters of boiling water, 1 tbsp. shavings of laundry soap and 1 tsp. table soda);

- with an infusion of calendula flowers. You can add chopped leaves of chamomile, coltsfoot or plantain, pour boiling water over the plants, let it brew for 30 minutes. The procedure is recommended to be carried out daily;

- with pine needles (2 cups of pine needles pour 1 liter of boiling water and hold in a water bath for 30 minutes), you can also do a bath daily or alternate with chamomile.
