Uric acid is produced by the body itself – Normally, it is in the blood of every person. The acid is a breakdown product of purines. However, in some diseases, its content in the blood increases significantly, which leads to negative health consequences. This is also due to the large amount of protein in the diet, excessive physical activity, alcohol abuse. What diet for high uric acid will help reduce its levels in the blood?

Diet for high uric acid: what foods to avoid

There are medicines that lower the level of uric acid in the blood. However, the most efficient way – it's a diet. After all, no medicine will help if you abuse products that provoke an increased content of this component in the blood. And these include those that have purine bases in large quantities. If there is excess weight along with increased uric acid, then the diet should be low-calorie.

Diet for high uric acid: how to eat right

Diet for elevated uric acid is designed to enrich the diet with vitamin B1 and ascorbic acid. It limits the intake of fats and proteins. Also, food must not be chopped for cooking.

To do this, you need to drink up to 2.5 liters of water – this does not include other drinks. In this case, there should be no contraindications from the side of the cardiovascular system.
