Nail care at home to solve basic problems

Every woman decides for herself what is best for her – do a manicure at home on your own or go to a qualified master. But even if you chose the second path, it is still worth putting some nail care products at home on the shelf at home.

Use them for care and recovery between visits to your hairdresser.

The choice of such products is now large: oils and gels to soften the cuticle (as an alternative, you can use base cosmetic oils with the addition of essential oils), products to strengthen the nail plate (usually with calcium) and accelerate nail growth .

If you have problem nails, then a basic set of products is indispensable.

If you have yellowish spots on your nails, it is possible that these are the remnants of the pigment from the previous coating (usually bright varnishes are guilty of this) that prevent your fresh manicure from shining in full force. Use a whitening base that will correct the tone of the nail plate.

If you don't have a special base at hand, it doesn't matter – Every housewife has a lemon in the refrigerator. Its juice has long been known for its bleaching properties. It is enough just to rub the nails several times with a crust with the remnants of the pulp.
Irregularities and cracks on the nails – also not a reason to worry. Perhaps you just hurt yourself somewhere. A special filling base will help smooth the situation and nails.

Dark vertical streaks on the nails can be both a specific manifestation of pigmentation and the first sign of melanoma (in rare cases). We don’t want to scare you, but it’s still better to consult a dermatologist and after nail diagnostics sleep peacefully.

Large pits on the nails can signal psoriasis or autoimmune diseases. Therefore, you should definitely see your therapist and take tests.

Concave shape of nails (as if your plates suddenly started to look like spoons) and other deformities – a sign of iron deficiency in the body. Load up on spinach, buckwheat, legumes, dried fruit and meat!

Nail care at home after a failed coating

Gel polish and shellac many women rightly consider one of the best beauty inventions of mankind. We will not argue – it is very comfortable! Dense glossy or matte finish, durability up to 3-4 weeks – all the benefits of a gel coat.

There is only one problem – careless removal of this type of coating is very harmful to the condition and "commodity"; appearance of the nail plate.

We do not urge you to completely abandon using gel polish in favor of the usual "old-fashioned" coatings, as modern women have too little time to run for a manicure every week. But at least follow the correctness and accuracy of removing the gel coating by the master.

And feel free to ask him questions or tell him about your discomfort during the procedure – they shouldn't exist!

Also, don't forget to rest for your "claws" – Do not continuously apply gel polish for more than six months. If the nails are thin and brittle, then even six months – it's a lot. In this case, try to alternate periods: a month with gel polish, a month of rest (or with regular coverage).

But what to do if your nails are still the victim of an unsuccessful coating? We will restore nails.

First, tune in for a break in – damaged nails should rest for at least 1-2 months.
Pamper them daily with step-by-step recovery treatments during this time.

Try starting with exfoliation. Although the nail plate – these are keratinized cells, but exfoliation with a fine scrub will remarkably eliminate small roughness on the surface, due to which the varnish lies unevenly.

Having prepared the "foundation" using a scrub, proceed to polishing. The nails will become smooth, and the tips will no longer exfoliate.

Now treat your nails with vitamins and nutrition. Serum with oils will moisturize both the nail plate and the cuticle. As we wrote above, the special tool is easily replaced by any base oil – e.g. coconut.

What habits make home nail care ineffective

Perfect Nails – it is, first of all, the result of long and painstaking work on yourself and your habits. After all, sometimes small, but terribly bad habits can negate even the best results of nail care at home.

The main bad habits to say goodbye to:

  • Bite your nails (not only do you absorb a bunch of bacteria, but also destroy the structure of nails).
  • Use your nails as a working tool (you can and should open packages with parcels pasted over with adhesive tape with a clerical knife!).
  • Drive the nail file back and forth along the nail (such manipulations greatly weaken the nail plate, provoking its delamination – you need to file the nail strictly in one direction).
  • Cut off or, moreover, gnaw the cuticle on your own (otherwise you can introduce bacteria and cause inflammation).

If you suffer from burrs, try changing the trimmed manicure to a hardware one, and at home – just push back the cuticle and lubricate it with oil.

By the way, if you apply oil not only on the cuticle, but also on the tip of the nail, then you will not only prevent the appearance of burrs, but also protect the varnish from chipping.

If you suffer from brittle nails, it may be due not only to a lack of proper nail care at home, but also to a poor menu.

It is necessary to strengthen the nails not only from the outside, but also, first of all, from the inside. It is enough to take 2.5 mg of biotin (vitamin B7) per day to make nails much stronger. You can buy a ready-made supplement at a pharmacy.

And you can add more legumes, nuts, spinach and cauliflower to your diet – and in a few months you will see the result. Take care of your nails and be a queen!
