Given the desperation with which we strive to love and be loved, and what a colossal amount of time we devote to work, it is impossible to disagree with the great expert on the human soul. Although it is still worth starting with money. According to a survey conducted by Kelly Services in April this year, the best motivation for work for more than 77 percent of employees is pay. Earned money has a different meaning for us than money won in the lottery or unexpectedly inherited. Funds received for work, for most of us, are endowed with super-meaning – we consider them a measure of success, our "value", mixing the concepts of profession and personality. The human tendency to identify with one's work begins in childhood. With the first parental “Why did you do that? You are bad!”, the child learns that the value of his personality is determined by the assessment of his act. In order to be loved, it is necessary to do something good and significant.

There are two types of work.

First – these are our daily life-sustaining chores, such as laundry, grocery shopping, or cleaning up the apartment. They are necessary, but do not require creativity, and in the process of this activity we do not produce anything that remains for a long time.

The second type of work, always appreciated by people more – it is the creation of things that surround us. Houses, gardens, cars, music, cups, shirts... We live surrounded by the fruits of human activity, we create this world. Participation in the creation of the surrounding reality brings stability and sustainability to our lives and allows a person to feel like a creator. Now this higher type of work is being transformed and is gradually disappearing. Most of us do nothing with our hands. We direct the flow of information - we talk on the phone and knock on the keyboard. To achieve results, we need to have a lot of knowledge, be able to concentrate strong-willed efforts and show creativity, but the result of our work – ephemeral, it cannot be touched. Therefore, it is so difficult for us to enjoy the fruits of our activities. Probably, this is the reason why in the middle of life many people gravitate towards working with their hands – grow flowers or cabbages, improve old swings or paint pottery.

Implementation and development

Everyone puts his own meaning into the concept of "self-realization". For some, this means becoming a high-class professional, for others – an opportunity to be creative, love your job, or make your childhood dreams come true.

We feel fulfilled if the abilities and talents given to us by God are used and developed to the maximum in the course of our activity. First of all, it is a feeling of being in the right place. It is then that we enjoy the process of work and achieve maximum results. It is then that we are able to sublimate a part of our libido into work, fill it with the energy of love and experience satisfaction and joy from what we are doing.

Self-realization is always associated with creativity. For this, it is not necessary to paint or dance. In any activity – teaching, building or cooking – there is space for creative search, professional growth. All this gives us a sense of the fullness of life.

Recognition

If our efforts are not appreciated and our achievements are not recognized, we become apathetic. On the contrary, a few words of approval at a difficult moment miraculously fill us with energy, restore strength and give motivation to work. Recognition of our merits satisfies a deep human need for a sense of self-worth. Social Approval – an important part of our sense of self.

It is important for us to feel the stability and structure of life. Spatial and temporal boundaries give a sense of order and clarity. We understand what and at what time we should do, and we are calm about how our tomorrow will go, because we can predict it.

That's why the very fact that we just go to work is so important to us. It is possible that remote work will soon deprive us of these benefits.

But no matter how information technology develops, face-to-face communication with colleagues – irreplaceable thing. Otherwise, why would people invent skype?
