If fasting is approached as an element of treatment and improvement of the body, then amazing effects can be achieved:

  • improves performance;

  • the body begins to absorb damaged cells – the natural process of autophagy is activated;

  • the number of stem cells is increasing – this has been proven by experience;

  • blood sugar drops;

  • fat burning processes are activated;

  • toxins and slags are removed.

Of course, for this you need to "be able to starve" – that is, do it wisely, with a certain frequency. The result of such fasting will be an improvement in well-being, as well as biological indicators of the body. Thus, it has been proven that during a five-day fast, bone density increases – in a 60-year-old person, it is at the level of a 30-year-old.

Fasting for Metabolic Processes: Is It Right for You

Fasting is considered to be one of the most powerful health effects, in particular – on metabolic processes. However, this option is not suitable for everyone – like any method, it has contraindications. Next, we will talk about fasting, which must be arranged once every two weeks for five days. Such an algorithm can improve health, but is not suitable for everyone. For most people, this is a suitable option – even if you are not overweight or predisposed to diabetes.

First of all, you need to properly prepare for fasting. You don't have to fast all five days right away. Start with one – and take care of your health. If it worsens, and you feel excessive weakness, dizziness, then it is better not to starve. If all is well, then next time you can starve for two days. All this time you can drink not only water, but also tea.

But you need to stop fasting in such cases:

  • if you are underweight – when body mass index is 18.5 or less;

  • for malnutrition and poor diet initially;

  • for gastrointestinal disorders;

  • if you have an eating disorder;

  • when taking medications that must be taken with food;

  • during pregnancy or lactation.

And, of course, children should not go hungry. If you decide to apply this practice on yourself, then "pull in" the children; it can't be in it. They have a growing body that needs daily nutrients. Therefore, only teenagers can be an exception, and then – for a period not exceeding a day.

Metabolic processes during fasting can change for the better only if you follow all the recommendations described above and do not abuse this method. Additional advice – talk to your doctor about whether you can fast at all. This will help not only to avoid problems, but also to maintain health.
