May holidays – this is a wonderful opportunity for a few days to escape and relax from everyday work in a peaceful environment in nature. Such days, especially if they are warm, I want to spend as much as possible in the fresh air. Often this is the first trip out of the city: barbecue with smoke, meeting with friends, pleasant impressions. Having decided to relax in the bosom of nature, do not forget to take the spring mood with you, and so that it is not spoiled by its quirks and other surprises, estet-portal.com has prepared some simple recommendations.
Rest for the May holidays: what not to forget when opening the summer season
- Insect protection
Annoying mosquitoes and flies are still sleeping, but the beginning of May – period of active tick hunting. The bite of this insect is fraught with dangerous diseases, it can cause tick-borne encephalitis or Lyme borreliosis. Encephalitis is known to be fatal in 50% of cases because it affects the CNS and is characterized by inflammation of the brain. Therefore, before going out into nature, be sure to wear long-sleeved clothes, and your legs should also be covered. Ticks, as a rule, do not climb trees, but are in the grass, so in this case, trousers and socks seem to be more important equipment than the same hat. It is worth taking with you special protective equipment that repels insects and spiders. These creams or aerosols can be applied to both skin and clothing.
Do not forget to inspect yourself and those who rest with you from time to time for ticks. Be sure to keep an eye on the children who will frolic in the grass.
- Sun protection
Sun – This, of course, is always joyful and positive. However, we should not forget that under the rays of the luminaries you can get burned, even at low air temperatures. And therefore, enjoying the spring rays, remember about protection. So besides the face (which goes without saying), be sure to apply SPF to all areas of skin that remain exposed. Cover your hair with a cap or hat, don't forget about sunglasses as well: they should be with you all the time while you are in the sun.
- Don't forget the necessary medicines
Be sure to take a first aid kit with you on vacation, do not rely on the one that is in the car or in the country: there may be expired drugs.
In addition to the obvious medicines, such as those you are currently taking, you should bring: painkillers (antispasmodics and analgesics), diarrhea medicines, sickness, allergies, antipyretics, heart medications and, of course, antiseptics. Of course, in the first-aid kit there should be a bandage, cotton wool, bactericidal patches.
- The right choice of drinks and their quantity
What you definitely need to stock up on to the maximum is non-carbonated water: it will come in handy both as a drink and in everyday life – for washing, brushing your teeth, etc. (if suddenly there are interruptions in the water supply in the country, and even in the forest, especially without it - nowhere). As for alcoholic drinks, remember: one bottle of wine – this is 5 glasses, so try to calculate the amount correctly. Table wine is quite suitable; make sure that it can be cooled: this can be done by lowering the bottles, for example, into a bucket of cold water and placing everything in the shade.
- Determine products
Outdoor recreation almost always involves cooking shish kebabs. But do not overload the stomach with a huge amount of different foods. And it is better to replace fatty meat with turkey, chicken, fish or shrimp, and do not marinate the barbecue in mayonnaise. For a properly cooked barbecue, marinade is required 1.5 times more than meat (for example, tomato marinade with onions is very tasty and healthy). For children, it is better to replace the barbecue with the same chicken or turkey baked in foil, since the first – a fairly heavy product for the stomach of your offspring.
Having carefully thought out everything and prepared for a trip outside the city, you will enjoy the splendor and tranquility of nature, and the bustle of the metropolis will remain at home. Make your May holidays enjoyable and safe!
